I know. Just stating that the grade doesn't mean much unless we add no more players in the spring, which would be a big problem.

So ISU's has the worst grade among the 11 teams that were graded but still receives a B-. Shouldn't the worst grade be more like a D? If I were grading ISU, I would give us a C- at best right now pending what happens in the spring. McD absolutely NEEDS to find a quality recruit to replace Craig Brackins.

It depends what pool of schools is being used to create the grading scale. Also, all the schools in the Big 12 could have a good grade. A low grade isn't necessary. A class of kids can be devoid of any D or F grades.

The correct answer was "B" as in Barnes. That would have really improved our grade if we would have answered just that one question correctly. I bet GMac was really kicking himself after he found out he missed that one.

    Tony Mitchell and Phil Pressey.

They did a nice job addressing their needs, which I'm guessing is what this is about. We still could use a JUCO C.

You know I was thinking about that this weekend. Would Tim Floyd or Larry Eustachy have let that happen? I don't want to open another hb can of worms, but I don't think that TF or LE would have been as patient. Now maybe Coach McD had his hands tied because of his son being his teammate, or possibly hb wasn't being completely honest with him, but looking back, I would have respected McD a heck of a lot more if he gave hb a deadline to give him a verbal commitment. Without that, say goodbye to any extra access at ISU events or facilities.

I love Coach McD, and think he is a great guy, but I worry he is too nice at times. Has he gotten a technical foul coaching at ISU yet? If so, when, and under what circumstances? College basketball is a ruthless enterprise. You think Roy Williams or Bill Self worry about being nice or following rules? Ha! Just win. Period.

I just do not believe for a second that LE or TF would have allowed themselves to be left looking like chumps the way McD was, even if their son was his teammate.

Maybe I sound like a fanboi, but I don't care what happened at USC. I would take Floyd back in a heartbeat. Best coach I have seen at ISU. You always knew we had a shot in every game, and at the least would not be outcoached.

Just curious as to what other people think about these things.

If he would have given him a deadline Barnes just would of said go to hell and people would be up in arms that Greg screwed it up. I think Greg rarely gets outcoached, although I do think NW got the better of him. And I know for a fact Greg follows the rules. Why? Because he knows at Iowa State you can't get away with anything, the NCAA loves to make examples of schools like Iowa State and they would drop the hammer immediately.
