Is Herman at risk with the openings elsewhere?

Any others of ours that could get promotions by moving?

I wouldn't worry about Herman for a couple more years. IMO he needs to be a coordinator in a major conference and have some legitimate success before he gets a look at being the head man somewhere. He did some nice things at Rice but he needs to prove himself in the big 12.

Yes, the team should focus on the bowl game. Fans can focus and speculate on whatever they want, thats what message boards are for...

After a year of overachieving all assistants will be at-risk to leave. It is better than the alternative. I hope all of our assistants that grade out well with PR get generous raises.

OC at say Notre Dame, or many other schools of their caliber, when every thing shakes out wouldn't be a bad move for him though. Although if he thinks that the O is going to put up some monster #'s next year he might want to stick around to enjoy it and reap the benefits.

    Herman isn't my worry.

I agree it wouldn't be a bad move but I just don't think he did enough his year to get a look from bigger schools. If ISU puts up monster offensive number next year he has proven that he can do it anywhere. Maybe then he makes the jump to a bigger school as an OC before moving on to HC in the future. I don't think his phone is going to be ringing off the hook this off season.

Its not like the offence really lit it up this year, there is little need to worry about him moving on. Unless you are Gene Chizik you really have to prove yourself at every job before getting a better one.

Re: Is Herman at risk with the openings elsewhere?

If he goes, so be it. I would like him to come back but I'm not blown away to the extent that I'd be heartbroken over his departure. The defensive staff though, that group was great this year.

Any changes being made at receiver coach?

Don't ya love speculation and worry? Let's stay focused on what we have and going to a Bowl game this year.

we went .500 this year in a down big XII north. Honestly, I doubt our coordinators have people beating down their doors. Maybe in the next year or two if were contending for the north consistently and climbing the bowl game ladder toward BCS, then we can have this conversation. Until then I think our guys are safe.

Can our focus on the bowl game make it any more possible? Do they take fan focus into account when selecting bowl games? Seriously, these kinds of posts are ridiculous.

I was not that impressed with Ash this year and the improvement of the players. I didn't really see any improvements from game 1 to game 12.
