    Princeton Jackson

I thought this kid was going for a baseball career but it looks like we are recruiting him again...

    Scout.com: Princeton Jackson Profile

He must have given up on the baseball idea and would have 4 years to play 3 wherever he went to play football...

Definitely. That could turn into the best LB corp we had since Dobbins and Robo were back there.

Would he be able to be a december grad seeing he technically qualified out of high school?

I would think he would be able to enroll whoever he wanted to as long as his JUCO grades were good enough. Not at all sure on number of years. I would guess 4 to play 3.

Be nice to get him and Mims back. Heard Jackson was having a great freshman year. Hopefully he doesn't forget the little guy that recruited him first.

Yeah... like James Carpenter did when we offered him when nobody else would, but then goes to Alabama instead of us after JUCO, and now starts for Alabama.

Or like Wesley Johnson did to us when we offered him when nobody else would, and then the first opportunity he had to give us the shaft... he did.

I hope we get Princeton Jackson, but I'll never be holding my breath.

If he's learned his lesson, maybe we could pick up his teammate Cameron Newton.

I watched him play in high school. Kid is a STUD. Reminded me exactly of Ace Bowen... we all know how that turned out.

Dobbins was such a stud at ISU.

Cool thing is watching Charger games, the guy still hits like a sledgehammer and makes plays.

If Princeton Jackson comes to ISU, does he count as one of our 26 signees for this year even though he signed last year?

Depends on when he enrolls. If he enrolls before the spring semester, he can count against last year's class. But if he enrolls for fall semester, he has to count against the 2010 class.

My question is why doesn't the Scout story or profile on him list a height, weight and speed? The Scout scouting report on him says he has great size and speed for the MLB position, but then doesn't list what they are. It would be interesting to know how big he's gotten because I wouldn't call 6-1, 210 (which is what he was listed at as a high school senior) great size for a MLB.

He won't be a MLB. He is a definite OLB. WILL more than likely.

Would be a great story for him to finally get to campus. At this point I expect he ends up elsewhere, but really hope I am wrong.

In all fairness to Carpenter, you do have to admit he made the right choice.

As far as depth goes though, the combination of White, Woodbury, Olaseni, Basabe, and Uthoff is much better than Niang, Ejim, Edozie, Gibson. Not because of the top 2, but because of the next 2 or 3. -DeanVogs
