    Bowden

    Think Bobby gets another year?

He was a guy I didn't like much until I saw the scene in "We Are Marshall". Don't know if it was true to life, or made up for the movie, but if it was true, changes my opinion about Bowden.

He and Joe Pa don't want to lay it down and let the other have the lead.

That ship has sailed. JoePa has 393 wins, Bowden has 388 wins. Another year or two isn't going to matter, Bowden can't catch up -- JoePa has a better team and he plays against weaker competition.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

The ACC is not better than the Big 10. ACC is a weaker conference and it is not debatable.

Bowden needs to retire and let Jimbo try to revive the Noles.

ACC has more good teams than the Big Ten. Florida State has to play Miami, Clemson, Boston College, and Virginia Tech in the conference, and a nonconference game against Florida every year. Penn State does not have 5 games comparable to that, and their nonconference schedule is a joke.

    Re: Bowden

Bobby Bowden is not bigger than the FSU football program. Yes he made it what it is, but in the grand scheme of things, he is a legend of the past. It is time to move on.

Isn't Jimbo technically the head coach right now. Just like at Penn St, Bowden is nothing more then a figure head that doesn't make any coacing decisions.

I highly doubt that. Bobby seems very much involved, as opposed to JoePa, who does absolutely nothing. If you ever see him with a headset on, he is actually listening to music...

I think Jimbo is running the show now, and that is what has got them were they are now. They can do better than him. Bowden should be allowed to coach as long as he wants.

My thoughts as well!! - And yes Bowden comes back for another year and retires.
