    Kragthorpe Fired

Kragthorpe canned at Louisville. Can't remember if he ever interviewed with JP, but he was talked about with Kelly, Brewster, Harbaugh, and Novell before we landed Cheesewhiz.

    Re: Kragthorpe Fired

Kragthorpe should have a warrant out for his arrest in the state of Kentucky for murdering that program.

    Any word on potential replacements?

Wouldn't be shocked at all to see a certain Mike Leach interested...

Would make sense. I'd rather compete for conference championships every year than compete for 3rd in the South.

    Re: Kragthorpe Fired

Kragthorpe took over a mess personel wise when he got to Louisville. He lost too much talent through that process to replace it in just three years. I think you'll see Louisville be pretty solid again if they don't change the system too much with the new staff.

But...but...they went 12-1 the year before he got there! He destroyed the program! So say a few posters here. He inherited a mess of a defense and probably some offensive players who weren't happy with having to play under a new coach. Absolutely there was a dropoff in performance, but I'm sure Kragthorpe was trying to make systematic changes and 3 years is just not enough time to do so.

    Re: Kragthorpe Fired

He inherited a terrible defense and one of the best offenses in the country. I really don't know how anyone can look at what he's doing there and think "you know what? They're really on the right path." This was the right call.

Mike Leach wins a national title there. Mark it down.
