    High praise from Rick Majerus

I still think it's too early to get carried away, but it's nice to have such high praise from someone who knows a thing or two about basketball.

That's a pretty fun article to read. High praise from that guy.

You know, I didn't think about it until I read that, but St. Louis is us last year. They just had that 6 1/2 minutes where they couldn't score, otherwise it was a tight game.

Yeah, they are. Last year, we can't make a run at all. This year, we make a couple of runs that are all the difference.

You won't, win or lose. Anything associated with NU sucks, including their coaches and their personalities.

He may be too blown away to respond tomorrow. Like another Northwestern coach a looooooong time ago.

Maybe they'll do a quick pregame feature on the origin of our nickname. Not likely, but very cool.

Re: High praise from Rick Majerus

That story has one of my biggest sports journalism pet peeves in it: overuse of the phrase, "for the first time since..."

"Iowa State, 6-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season, plays Northwestern in the 7 o’clock championship game Saturday night."

Oh wow! It's been a whole 3 years since they were 6-0? If it was 10 years+, sure, tell us. But 3? Who cares.

RM is an awesome coach and this team (SLU) is going to be GOOD the next two years if they keep their players

Good point. Not the most meaningful statistic.

This is what you do when you don't know how to write 100%. It's like when you were in high school and completely padded your papers with meaningless words that had to do with the subject when you ran out of new material.
