how far can we go this year?

when was the last time we had this much depth? i honestly think this could be the best team we have EVER had. just curious to see what everyone thinks about isu making the big dance and if so, how far will we go? i know we have a tough schedule, but i see us going to the sweet 16.

I'm pretty confident that we have the talent to make it to the Big Dance, but I'm not going to drop a goocher on them on the day of their first tough game.

Ask me after we have played a team that is better than Wartburg. A few years ago Coach Mac had us 6-0 and we finished 15-16.

I love this team too, but after watching way too many preseason tourny games on ESPN the last few days, we still have a ways to go to catch up with a lot of teams physical strength and speed.

Wartburg's a national power, dude. Beating them would be like beating Duke 5 times.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

We can do some damage and be a team that people have to respect. That's not bad.

    1. Add a poll.

    2. We need a cybookie for this.

    3. I'm thinking at least sweet 16.

    Sweet 16? Huh?

NCAA Tourney 2nd round at best. Solid team in comparison to years past, but not in comparison to the top 15 teams in the nation right now. Not quite there yet... keyword, yet.

Yeah, but when we were 6-0 to start the season...we weren't emptying our bench halfway through the 2nd half nor blowing teams out by 30-40 points.

Anyone with two eyes and half a brain can see we are much better this year potentially than the last many years.

Re: how far can we go this year?

this is the toughest schedule i have seen in a long time. alot of tough non-conference games this year. if we can pull some upsets, then we will get respect. with alot more weapons this year, we dont have to worry about brackins being double or triple teamed near as much

I celebrate when Brackins is double-or triple-teamed this year. It means that the scoreboard is about to light up.

Of course, when he's single-covered, I celebrate too, since he's about to go off.

Sky's the limit, and now it's time to prove it.

As far as I know, one of my identities is not Jon Miller :)

    Just sayin'.

I'd like to see the Clones play some real competition before saying things like "at least Sweet 16".

you realize if you win the 2nd round game you're in the sweet 16...

So it's absolutley out of the question to get to the sweet 16 but 32 is obtainable.

That's like saying... there is NO chance at ISU getting 23 wins, maybe 22... but 23... you've got to be kidding yourself.

Edit: I'm not making any post season prediction myself. Just pointing out that if getting to the second round is obtainable... then getting to the sweet 16 is a matter of winning 1 game.

I'm just here to enjoy the ride and see how far we get, because this team is fun to watch.

I think ISU will be a good team this year, but I don't see how you will make it to the Sweet 16. By March, I think ISU will be a bubble team. It's still too early to tell, though.
