    Update from JJ Bass

Just thought i would share this with you guys, i was recently privileged to have a talk with JJ, and he had alot of good to say, but also had alot of questions for me so i didnt get a whole lot out of him. One thing, he has his 40 to a 4.42 and has increased his bulk. also " I cant wait to get out there come June..i've seen alot of the campus on my visit really enjoyed the town and def seen myself playin in Iowa i know i made the right choice..",
I also asked him what he thought about Chizik not picking up Damilyn Tanner, " yeah unfortunately it didnt work out, he is a great player" I said yeah Chizik is a great coach however, and " yea you know i feel coach goin to do whats best for the team..so i guess that was best " and when i said Chizik is a great coach, he responded with "a great person too" JJ talks to Bret almost daily and Bret told him that they have been working harder than ever. JJ will not play in the spring game, but he will be in attendance. He has 2 classes to finish up that end at the end of June. After that JJ is in Ames for good. I also told him about the importance of the Iowa game, and the throwback game. He asked how many the stadium held, i told him 55,000 is a good number but we can jam more in. Also i told him that if he rushes for 200 yards in the Iowa game, his throwback jersey will probably sell for a grand, he replied with "well then they better get that grand ready" Just thought you guys would like to hear some of these things, JJ is a really cool guy and i will be talking with him more. Sorry for the book!

    Re: Update from JJ Bass

I posted a video a while back on him, its from his freshman year, they have not updated it, he told me his sophomore year would be much better.... he hits the hole hard and gets to the outside fast, like a big troy davis

    Re: Update from JJ Bass

what i like about him is he sees the whole field.. not just part of it.. i liked on the 2nd or 3rd run where he cut across the field.. shows he has good vision

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Man, the idea of a solid running back, along with Bythe and Meyers on offense, and Chiziks D has me excited for next year.

    Re: Update from JJ Bass

I saw a lot of outside running instead of hitting the hole. And it seems he went down on first contact. Didnt break too many. But he could have gotten stronger since this video.

I did like seeing spread option sets. This seems to possibly be something ISU may run a little of and he is familiar with it.
