    Your T-day Recipe

The Pre-Turkey day thread got me thinking, what is your T-day recipe? Maybe it's how you make the turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie.

I'm always in charge of making roasted potatoes. I mix it up usually, always trying something new. Most times I just use some olive oil, salt, pepper, and spices - either rosemary, onion powder, sage, or tyme, and of course always with minced garlic. Some times I'll just let cook in a crock pot, or do the correct method and let roast in the over for about 30 min. at 400 or so degrees.

I've tried various ways to make a turkey, but always end up dry and not as tasty as I would like. I usually coat the outside with olive oil, separate the skin from the meat and spread some butter between, and don't use a stuffing (not much a fan) - maybe that's the missing ingredient. I turn the oven up high at 500 degrees for the first 20 min to let the outside get cripsy, pull it out and cover with aluminum foil and then let it cook the rest of the way at 250 degrees for about 3.5 hrs.

I also tried making turkey noodle soup with left overs one year, but that was as flat as dried bread.

I always use an oven bag with my turkey...it cooks in less time and stays moist.

I cool the beer to 37 degrees. Then tastes great.

Trying something different this year. Hopefully this turns out. The menu so far is roast turkey in a white wine, ham off the smoker, parmesan mashed potatoes and stove top stuffing.

I hope it is Coors Light where the mountains turn blue. Otherwise, how could you possibly know if the beer is cold?

    Re: Your T-day Recipe

I've become a big fan of this coleslaw my aunt makes. Its like a broccoli slaw with almond slices, sunflower seeds, ramen noodles, green onions, and oil.
