Green hills for thy throne, and for crown a golden melody/Ringing in the hearts of all who bring thee love and loyalty/Dear Alma Mater, make our spirits great
True and valiant like the bells of I-O-WA STATE!
125:Nick Fanthorpe #10
In position for run at the quarter-finals if he can beat a decent Little Eleven lightweight from Indiana.
133:Nick Gallick N/A
Gallick got slighted I believe with no seed, and he will wrestle a pig-tail type of match off the bat, then face the #3 seed.
141:Mitch Mueller N/A
With a first match win, Mitch will face the #1 seed in the 2nd round. With his injury I'm not sure he can stick with Ryan Lang.
149:Cyler Sanderson #11
I'm about assuring Cyler into the quarter-finals, but a tough bout with Churella would be waiting for him. This is where we need to see a little bit of the methodical "Sanderson" type wrestling we know and love.
157:Trent Paulson #1
Trent likely has a rematch with Morningstar in the quarter-finals. Hopefully another squawk gets put in his place.
165:Travis Paulson #4
Travis lucks out. Will not wrestle a soul he can't vanquish until the semi-finals. Look for big things.
174:Grant Turner N/A
Turner likely has a long run of wrestle-backs to win after his first match.
184:Jake Varner #6
Look for Varner to easily make the quarters, his quadrant of the bracket includes some weak Big Ten wrestlers.
197:Kurt Backes #9
A rematch with Flaggert for the quarters will test Backes. Lets hope he comes to wrestle.
HWT:David Zabriskie N/A
Zabriskie gets shafted. I really felt an 11 or 12 seed was possible for him. He draws a tough Navy wrestler right away.
