    DG

I have to admit I have never been much of a DG fan the past 2 years because the kid's shooting and inability to finish on a drive just drove me nuts. With that being said I would like to say that DG is quickly changing my opinion of him and has really impressed me with his play so far. He hasn't been forcing anything and really has stepped up his defense this year. I wouldn't be surprised if having Colvin pushing him has something to do with it but I feel a lot more comfortable with him running the point so far this year than I ever have the past 2 years. I think I feel very comfortable with any 3 of our PGs running the show right now too as Colvin just seems like he is going to be something really special eventually and even Buckley looks like he has put in a lot of hard work in the offseason.

He's always been a good player...just hasn't had the supporting cast. People that jumped all over him were out of line IMO.

DG showed a flash of his old self at the end of the 1st half last night where he stopped dishing and missed a couple bad shots & had a turnover, but overall had a great game

I'd say. He was 5-7 shooting for 11 pts and had 7 assists with 1 TO.

On the season he has 38 assists and 9 TOs, while shooting 57% from the field. Oh, and most importantly, he hasn't taken a 3 pointer yet.

Since when does your supporting cast have anything to do with dribbling with your head down, playing below average defense, not finishing at the rim and being the worst shooter on the team?

DG has played great this year and I hope he continues to when the competition improves, it would be huge...but don't tell me he's been a good player the past 2 years, because he hasn't!

    Re: DG

He should have redshirted his freshman year and he'd be a very good RS sophomore right now. He couldn't redshirt and we know the rest of the story. He's a pretty good true junior.

    Re: DG

He's playing very well this year. He's looking for assists a lot more than in the past and the few shots he takes now are good ones.

I will tell you that and I already did. He has been a good player the last two years. Apparently you've not watched BBall before to understand how important the supporting cast is to a team.

He's probably still the worst shooter on the team. Difference is he doesn't have to shoot this year (i.e. supporting cast) and he can concentrate on running the team.

    Re: DG

He is always looking for someone to pass.... and one extra pass to the better shooter. There was one situation where he had a open shot, but he decided to dish the ball out to better shooter (scotty) with more open look (and yes he drilled three).

I cant wait to show what ISU has to offer and how much higher level that we are playing this year.

Lets hold off on saying that he's turned the corner until we see what he does against some real competition.

    Re: DG

With right pg, this team could be a top 10 team. Certainly top 20.

The right point guard would have speed, break the press with his own dribble, get to the foul line often with the pressure of driving the lane, be able to pull up and shoot the three on breaks, or mid range shots if they are sagging off, and guard the ball going the other way on fast breaks.

If you think DG can do this at a winning Big 12 level, I must be watching somebody else. Not saying he can do it all either, but I just like Boozer a little better.

    Re: DG

He has done much better this year, but there are still some instances where he puts his head down and you can tell "it's DG time!" and he is going to throw up something crazy. At least this year it hasn't been from 3 so far.

Did you mean to say Boozer...as a PG?
