    Tiller to Receiver?

Anybody think there is a chance we see Tiller play some receiver in the bowl game? Thinking back to the way he runs and our struggles at that position makes me think it might be the best spot for him. With the extra practices he could get a pretty good feel before making a full time switch next year.

maybe next year, not for the bowl game. If Barnett or Capello look like a legit back-up option, I could see it.

He has been taking reps and working at WR in practice some. I know my brother keeps swearing he will be a WR for us next year

We get Money back, and two fairly highly rated Jucos coming in. Finally, who is your second string QB then? I don't see this happening on a permanent basis, but certainly could see some wrinkles to get the talent on the field.

Absolutely not. One thing I have seen watching college football this year you need a backup QB that is ready to go. We cannot risk having our backup getting injured playing WR.

    Re: Tiller to Receiver?

No, unless maybe for a gadget play or something. He certainly isn't changing position anytime soon... why would you think he would change positions next year? He is our backup QB who as a freshman won his first start at Nebraska. Has a strong arm (though raw) and looks like a good fit for the offense we ran this year.

The only way I could possibly see him change positions next year is if at least one (and probably both) of Capello and Bueker moved ahead of him on the depth chart, and I don't think there has ever been a single indication that that has or might happen. Where would we have been this year without him when Arnaud went down? And the way Arnaud runs like a fullback, he is always a play away from getting dinged up.

He's worked there all year and his reps would probably get cut back in bowl practices anyway. I just don't think he has the arm or the ability to make the reads to run the offense full time. I think with his size and speed he can be a dominant receiver.

    Re: Tiller to Receiver?

He's our future QB after Arnaud leaves. Moving him to receiver full-time would be a big mistake at this point. If the staff loves Barnett or Capello at this time next year as a legit option, then maybe.

Tiller has the tools to be a very good QB in our system. I wouldn't be so quick to throw that away.

Exactly! Raise your hand if you want to see Herman draw up some plays with Tiller and Reynolds lining up at receiver.

Extensively? Sure seems odd that we would have our backup QB (who was starting just a couple weeks ago) taking a lot of snaps at WR when our starting QB is just recovering from injury. A few plays here and there makes sense but full-time? I really doubt it.

    Re: Tiller to Receiver?

If we bring in Creekmur (sp?) and Barnett I think that it would possibly work.
