    Alaska Super Bowl

We are having our Super Bowl in Alaska and it is called "Iditarod." Its a 1,150 mile sled dog race that finishes in the town I live nearby. This year with maybe two days to go there are four teams that are in contention to win.

Didn't I read that somebody froze their corneas last year?!!?! Dude took off his googles and his eyes froze in the 80 below windchill or something insane like that.

Near record high temps in Iowa this week, I'll take that any day.

We've actually have a local team and musher competing this year. They train in the summer by pulling wheeled sleds around the local roads. The kids get a kick out of seeing them out on the road.

That was four years ago. The musher had laser surgery a few months before the race and his corneas were extra sensitive as a result.

I don't want to hear Rome cover anything. Even though he hates EIU, the guy is a total tool..

I don't know who Jim Rome is but by the sound of it he sounds like one ignorant fool if that is how he characterizes the race.

I can only dream of the day when I live in a place where no one has heard of Jim Rome.

I still think it's cool though that he thinks he only has Iowa State fans listening to his show. He always refers to his listening audience as the 'Clones'.

It would suck if he called the listeners 'Pukeyes'.

    Re: Alaska Super Bowl

One of the mushers was just disqualified for hitting his dogs after they wouldn't get up. One of them died the next day and two other dogs died on the trail.

It's got a lot of history but it seems like a pretty ridiculous event to me.
