Just curious, it seems like the general opinion is that ISU would/will be selected before A&M for a bowl game. Why is that? So that A&M can play in Texas?
The Texas Bowl wants A&M at all costs since its in Texas and they would travel well. However, A&M wouldn't travel as well to Shreveport since this is a huge year for ISU but a terrible year for A&M and Shreveport is a pretty bad destination.
Now if A&M and ISU are up for the Insight bowl, it would probably be a toss-up since it is a better destination and A&M might travel well to Arizona, but I'd like ISU's chances based on our history with that bowl.
I want Minnesota in the Insight Bowl at all costs. That would be a great bowl and a great match up for ISU.
Agreed, a Decker-Less Minnesota is about as good a matchup as I can see. Not only that, but I think there is a lot of untapped potential rivalry between the Clones and Gophers.
