    New Sunday Bracketology

Just saw this posted on espn.com. They have us as the 6 seed in Minneapolis. Also looks like they are putting Creighton in over Drake, as a #16 seed.

    Re: New Sunday Bracketology

when do they select? does any1 know? (for the women)

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

I saw that too. Purdue would be a very tough draw in the second game, but I really like the thought of a MN regional.....especially since I live there :)

Usually right before the men, they always do a show on ESPN for the women.

As of last year, the women's selection is on Monday night. I am currently looking for times...

    Re: New Sunday Bracketology

The Creighton/Drake selection will be decided on the court. With rpi of 202 and 206 they are likely low seeds, but, I suspect there are at least four teams in the tourney that they could beat. The game is at 2:00 and is on fsn. There is a lot of Iowa on the Creighton team. This info from gocreighton -

Creighton staff and players and Iowa natives Jim Flanery (Guthrie Center), Tanya Warren (Des Moines), Julie Tuttle (Pocahontas), Sara Cain (Walford), Kelsey Crites (Clinton), Ally Thrall (Des Moines) and Kristina Voss (Ankeny) would all get to celebrate a tournament title in their home state.

ps Purdue lost to Texas - If this matchup does happen - it is doable.

pps I'm still hoping for a 5 seed. I think we deserve it as (now) one of the top twenty teams in the country.

Haha, "the barn" as they call it is awful. The forest of columns makes for a lot of really bad seats. And the raised floor is dangerous. They say they want to keep it around for nostalgia, but I think they'd just rather spend the money on Mariucci and Ridder Arenas (men's and women's hockey). There has actually been a little talk of replacing it....but the football stadium comes first. Metrodome just isn't cutting it...

Either way, we'll get more fans in there than any other option.
