    Gill to Kansas?

I have no proof of this but the latest scuttlebutt around here is that if Mangino is gone then Turner Gill will be most likely be the next Kansas football coach.

He does have a connection at Kansas, albeit a small one, his daughter is a student at Kansas and was once on the dance team squad there.

Take if for what you will of it but that is the rumblings here in eastern Nebraska.

After the season he is finishing he better move up the ladder now before the ladder is no longer available.

    Re: Gill to Kansas?

Gill had his magical season last year. If this info is correct, he'd better take the job and thank his lucky stars because I don't think his stock is going to get any better.

Buffalo pretty much sucks this year - right?

Not a complete indictment of him. Hard to maintain success at a such a school. But still.....

    Re: Gill to Kansas?

One thing when ISU was rumored to be after him, a lot was made of the fact that he didnt want to coach in the Big 12 North against Nebraska.

That said, if he went to KU he would really be a recruiting force, hope he stays out east waiting for a nice big east program to open up....

HAHAHA THIS MADE ME LAUGH. THEY CALLED ME BECAUSE OF MY CONNECTION TOO. I ONCE HOOKED UP WITH A BASKETBALL CHEERLEADER FROM KANSAS IN 2002. JUST HAD TO MAKE A SMART *** COMMENT.

    Re: Gill to Kansas?

Mangino isn't even gone yet...I find all this "replacement coach" talk a little premature. I want to see how this plays out, but I've heard nothing in KC today.

Gill's daughter went to KU? I would say that is a little more than a small connection...that is family. What is Pat Hill's relationship to KU?

IMO Gill is unlikely to go to KU because of the whole NU thing. That being said, his stock is dwindling, but I doubt it is as critical to get out now.

I believe its a little early too but thought it was prudent to divulge the information.

    Re: Gill to Kansas?

Interesting. Turner Gill was one of the guys that I was excited about this last time. And it sounded like he had some interest in us but was pretty worn down after the debacle in Auburn and didn't want to get mixed up in another coaching search. Kansas could probably do worse and Gill is about the level of coach that they could get.

    Re: Gill to Kansas?

I would guess the Next Kansas coach would be one of the following.

Guz Malzahn- Just because every vacant coaching place mentions his name.
Todd Graham- He has kept Tulsa playing well
Brent Venables-How many years can you have a dominant defense before some one gives you a shot.
Terry Allan or Glen Mason- Just throwing this out in case Auburns athletic director decides to take the KU job. He could possibly think these two are good candidates for that job. That is how stupid he is.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.
