    Suggestions for eating at buffets

Anybody care to share their strategy for eating at buffets?

Like always using the largest plate offered.

Like not taking a salad since they take up valuable stomach space. If you must eat lettuce, it makes a great addition on top of a hamburger.

Re: Suggestions for eating at buffets

I can only offer you this bit of advice

If you are in a buffet line and Harrison Barnes is in front of you, cut your losses and head to the buffet across town. If you stay he will likely engage you in conversation. He will then charm you and find out what your favorite foods are. He will then load up his plate with said foods and invite you over to his table to share in the feast. Just as you arrive he will give the food to his new friends and blow you off as you are stuck eating the griiled meat on a stick, dry onion rings and chefs surprise that is left on the line. After he is finished stuffing himself he willl tell you how great the meal was and invite himself, and your friends to your house for the next big meal. Yep still bitter on Monday morning. Had to listen to Deace and Miller and they rehashed the pain for me. Damn.

I have something of a reputation as an eater, and my best suggestion is, don't pace yourself. Your body gets confused when you start really heaping food into it and the "full" sensation will not occur until you have more food in you than you would if you were pacing yourself.

Exactly....plus limit the pop(water). Only small drinks.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

I like to take a spoonful of things I haven't tried before and maybe a whole serving of one or two things I know I like.

Our church used to have an International Dinner once a month. This was the best way to try new food!

1st trip thru, small servings of everything that looks like it could possibly be good with extras of meat. 2nd trip, larger quantities of the quality dishes. 3rd trip, start phasing in deserts. 4th and subsequent trips, continue with deserts until miserable. If cookies are available, put some in your pockets.

Has always worked for me. Plus, if you're going to have indigestion from eating too much, the belches will taste of brownies and ice cream rather than something not so pleasant.

Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen.

Eat fast, eat hard, don't chew, don't drink.

Pile it high, mix and match, have extra napkins, avoid desserts.

Find a spot close to the food, take extra plates, go protein.

That struck me as funny, probably because it was so accurate.
