Losing Dendy for 2 weeks will hurt bad IMO

We all saw tonight what Dendy provides us. The whole team plays at a higher level when they watch him flying all over the place.

yeah, I agree. I just hope it is not to bad and the difference between making the tournament and not making the tournament.

Agreed. We really, really need Dendy back for the Chicago invitational. Really need him back. I think we really miss his rebounding more than anything actually.

Yes we'll need him for ND, but keep in mind we won by 22 tonight without him. We'll hold down the fort until he returns, which I hope is soon. The guy is the energizer bunny on crack.

Chris Williams said it was a sprained knee. Wasn't it his knee that kept him out most of the year last year in JUCO as well? If it's the same knee, that can't be a good sign. What other good luck can GMac have?

And we won by 22 with Craig Brackins going 2-12 and scoring only 8 points. I think him having an off night was a much bigger factor than not having Dendy.

He was only flying around for one whole game against a sub-par opponent. Just relax.... But it does hurt though!

I think he'll be back before any huge games, not to worry.

Re: Losing Dendy for 2 weeks will hurt bad IMO

I don't get this. I assume that the coaching staff (and Chris Williams) are correct saying he is only out for 2 weeks, so that puts him back for the ND/Northwestern game in Chicago.

So, which game before that do you think we'll need him in order to win? Drake? Doubt it, not with Young being injured. St. Louis? Please....

Seriously, we need him back for ND/Northwestern, then we could use him for UNI, but assuming he only takes 2 weeks, he'll be back before we really need him!

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

Re: Losing Dendy for 2 weeks will hurt bad IMO

I agree it sucks not having him right now, but you can't base this off off tonights game. Overall it was a very sloppy game for the "whole team" and having dendy in there probably wouldn't have changed much
With that said, i think we'll be able to handle the next two weeks without him and hopefully when he comes back he'll be ready to step it up

The fear is that it takes more than two weeks -- that amount of time is just a guess at this point. Plus, however much time he is out, his conditioning will suffer, he loses valuable game time with new teammates, etc. While it may not be classified as "huge" at this point, I think it is most definitely a set back.

Don't forget that Gilstrap wasn't really on today either. Last I remember checking, he was also something like 2-11. We did not look very good tonight at all, and still won handily. Did miss seeing Dendy out there. He's been fun to watch the first couple games...
