Both ISU Cross Country Teams Headed for NCAA Championship
BOTH ISU CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS EARN NCAA BERTHS, A FIRST SINCE 1995
AMES, Iowa – For the first time since 1995 Iowa State will take both its men’s and women’s teams to the NCAA Cross Country Championship. Both squads earned at-large berths after third-place finishes at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Springfield, Mo. Saturday.
“This is exciting for the men because the seniors on this team, Guor (Marial), Brandon (Rooney) and Jory (Zunich) were the guys who came in here wanting to turn things around,” ISU head coach Corey Ihmels said. “Now they are making their third straight trip to the NCAA Championship.”
Re: Both ISU Cross Country Teams Headed for NCAA Championship
The Iowa State Womens number 2 runner Betsy Saina had to drop out of the race which probably cost them about 30-35 points in the team standings as she probably would have been somewhere around 10th they were 3rd with 105 and Minnesota won with 60 i think so they would have a had a chance to win beacuse having betsy place that high would have added some points to minnesotas team score...
just something small i though about hopefully they run their best race this next monday :) :)
