    New Commitment?

Paul Clark is reporting on his page that the clones have a new commit. My guess is Jon Caspers, the JUCO lineman from ND. A three star prospect with good size I'd be glad to have him, but I didn't know we were in such need of OL help. And Im still hoping for some JUCO LB'ers and JUCO DL. I think we need one of each.

    Re: New Commitment?

I don't know that we need the Linebackers. We seem to have two pretty good young guys and a couple redshirts along with the 2 or 3 (depending on where they are once they get here) to form a pretty good core for the next few years. I do feel like we need some line help. We just cannot get consistent pressure now.

It's all snark from here on out

    Re: New Commitment?

I disagree, losing garrin and smith your losing a lot of talent, depth, and experience. Take those two away and you only have knott, klein, lattimer, and tuafoou (anyone else i wouldn't expect on the field). Apparently Willie Scott is looking good so throw him in there too. Either way 5 playable linebackers isnt enough. especially when all of them have no more then a 1 year of division 1 football under their belt. I think another JUCO LB would help tons.

Sure, it's a lot of turnover. A whole lot of turnover, but several of the guys in the mix will have a year with this staff already, so there's continuity (and good continuity) there.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

I bet Creekmur from M-town got an offer and accepted today.

What does Creekmur play and is he any good? I thought his sport was basketball.

    Re: New Commitment?

He has had an all-state year in football and if it weren't for Derby at IC High he would be elite all-state QB. Derby is a better athlete IMO, but Creekmur is a much better all-around QB.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Creekmur was pretty underwhelming when I saw him play against Fort Dodge so I don't get the hype.

Is the title game going to be on TV? I'm curious to see the kid play for myself...

    Re: New Commitment?

I'm sure Caspers is going to play OLine for us if he did commit, but he did come to junior college as a pretty good DT out of the Minnesota HS ranks. Maybe a switch like Tuba did?

    Re: New Commitment?

Are any of the OL commits planning on switching to DL? Not necessarily Caspers, but any of the others?

Any info on Caspers (first name?)? I'm not real familiar.

5 playable LB's isn't a bad number if you are planning on running a 4-2-5. I thought that I've heard that is what Burnham wants to eventually get to.

    Re: New Commitment?

Too lazy to add the link, but first name is John. He is 6'6 310 pounds and moves pretty well. Big strong kid who played both ways is high school, but mainly defense and came to NDSCS as a DT. Originally from Minnesota.
