    Nail in Hawkin's coffin

Footballcoachscoop.com reporting he will not be retained. Very reputable site among football coaches.
Also saying that Minnesota is interested in severing ties with Brewster

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Thinking it seemed like a good idea at the time. Big bucks, big time conference, chance to make it big.

    Oops.

Maybe it wasnt him that made Boise look so good. Since being at Colorado his O has seemed plain.

I work with a CU booster. He doubts Hawkins is going anywhere because of the buyout. Says they regularly call him looking for more donations because the AD is in financial trouble without having to think about a buyout.

    Re: Nail in Hawkin's coffin

Losing to ISU is not acceptable in a lot of places....and rightfully so until we earn more respect. Hawkins is a goner. Barnett was really pushed to the end of the plank after losing to ISU.
If Bo Pelini loses, say, the next two to ISU...he will be fired at the end of 2011.
If Bob Stoops loses to ISU, he will probably be asked to take a sabbatical.
Any Texas AM coach that loses to ISU is fired.

I just still think of Hawkins and McCarney in that Humiliation Bowl. Bad memories all around. Hawkins was a Jerk that game....but our coaching performance allowed him to be that jerk.

I thought of Dan Mac a lot when Ferentz just sat on that ball the last minute 20 seconds of regulation......what a coaching cop-out. That is crap and something Dan would do. Play not to lose in a competitive game you most certainly can (and will) lose. Passive coaching is infectous.

Guess he should have stuck with intramurals.

I hope we got the ***** fired. Remember the rub our noses in it TD at the end of the Boise Bowl? On their home field? I sure do.

    ****. Hawkins is a chump.

I am sure they just want to follow the Urban Meyer train of thought....I think Gary Patterson at TCU is really the only one that has figured out it isn't worth it to try and move up just to get fired later...Chris Peterson at Boise may have that figured out now also after watching how Hawkin's career has turned out.

Yeah, stay where you don't have to worry about a challenging schedule once conference season starts.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.

    Re: Nail in Hawkin's coffin

This game did seal the deal for his firing. I became a total believer in how ignorant this guy is when his team had us stopped and would of been 4th and 1 on our like 10, but we had a holding penalty which they accepted and gave us another chance with a 3rd and 10. Why he didn't elect to decline the penalty because at that point we were still up by 2 touchdowns and there is no way we would of gone for it.

I hate Dan Hawkins because of our Humiliation Bowl....and playing his son at QB.

I do like Boise State though and wish them well. How can you not freaking love the hook and ladder followed by the statue of liberty against OU man?!?!??! I actually emailed that Peterson cat after that game....what a stud and a hero.

Money, power and ego are powerful things. It takes a rare bread of person to say, "You know what, I've found a nice home and I am happy here." Let's hope Rhoads is that kind of man.

Why would anyone from ISU want Hawkins fired? I hope they sign him to a lifetime contract.
