Re: ISU Alums - Your favorite professor at ISU

Pate was a great teacher. Did you ever have Dr. Bullen. I took a couple of classes from him. I was a big fan. I had him the last semster he was at ISU and he took our entire class to the bar during our final. He even left us some money when he went home.

Also did anyone have Fast Freddy. Not a great teacher but just thinking of him makes me laugh.

Dr. K = Dr. George Knaphus
Dr. T = Dr. Lois Tiffany. (died on Sept. 6, and was a good friend)

Yeah I always noticed those guys down there but then the Whiskeys day came and 1/2 our row was gone (perks of being in the back with all the slackers) so we took doubles in the first place and then also stuck around after class and helped polish off the left overs with Stewart. Also tended to do that for each of the field trips too. Maybe I looked to much into "getting the most out of my 'education' "

Amrit Tiwana. Believed in minimal powerpoint and his classes were usually wide open discussions instead of just him talking at the class. Really enjoyed it.

Larry Curtis- ACT 215 He teaches it as it is, not by the book but real life examples and back it with real stories and cases
    +1

Going to People's after class to have a martini with Fred was one of my favorite college experiences...

I have to agree with the posts for Dr. Pate and Dr. Bernard. I was a big fan of Mike's style of teaching, and Dr. Bernard was very good at stressing the importance of paying attention to what is happening in the outside world.

I'm just waiting for some of the Calc and Physics professors to get mentioned...

He was really good professor. I learned alot in his class. I liked Dr. Garcia who taught my HDFS class.... He was comical, content was boring as heck though.

Dirk Deam is the correct answer. Beats the crap out of my current law professors I will tell you. Dirk makes you think, not too many other college professors or high school teachers can say that.
