Minnesota isn't the only future ISU WBB opponent to lose an exhibition

Lubbock Christian 71, Texas Tech 65.

On a somewhat unrelated note, the author of that article is familiar...

Now she gets to write about a basketball program that no one cares about. Weak.

Yeah, the new Whats-his-face is a decent writer, but I really miss Courtney's style and personality. Lubbock may be a bigger city than Ames, but she is WAY too good of a journalist to be wasted on a cultural (and literal) desert like northwest Texas. I hope she comes back to Iowa someday.

    True and Valiant

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Bobby LaGesse had the WBB beat last year too, and I think he did a pretty good job. If he's doing both MBB and WBB this season he might get stretched pretty thin.

If I read a recent tweet of his right, I got the feeling Bobby had to go on furlough recently. I can't believe that the Tribune is doing gang-buster business in this economy, so it's probably that Courtney (bless her heart--she was a GREAT PR person for Cyclone sports) knew that she needed to seek better paying pastures or worse--get furlough. From experience (I worked at the Tribune myself years ago): there is no money in the newspaper business, so you go where the money calls, or hope you have a significant other who makes good money to support your passion.

I think somewhere (maybe twitter) he outright stated that he had a week-long furlough.

Found it. Go Cyclones - I'll be gone for a week
