Where does the CU game rank?

At least in terms of the most important game in the last decade?

    I would say...

    1) 2005 KU - Obvious, a group that game so close the year before, chance for redemption, great bowl on the line, North Title.

    2) 2004 MU - Again, obvious - Chance at the Big 12 title game, at home with national TV, good bowl possibilities.

    3) 2009 CU - New coach, establish a foundation, exceed expectations, more than likely going bowling, momentum going into a tough 2 year stretch with a challenging schedule.

Even if we don't get an invite to a bowl game, a 6th win will at least put an end to our three straight losing seasons and give us a modicum of respect in the Big 12.

Big 12 wins mean a lot, even if we don't make a bowl at 6-6.
The loss would hurt the CU program even more.

If we beat Colorado, I think we have a better than 50/50 shot to beat Mizzou. If we lose to Colorado, I'd say we have about a 10% chance of beating Mizzou. It's a big game Saturday.

Re: Where does the CU game rank?

it's so important that I bet there will be no more than 40k in JTS saturday....

sorry to be a downer, I'm still pretty ticked off with the fanbase for the turnout saturday (yes, I was there and saw the large sections of the upper decks empty as well as the relatively sparse hillsides). I guess nebraska fan farmers and iowa fan farmers must have already harvested their crops based on memorial and kinnick stadium game attendances.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

It is a big game for sure! We need to step up and consistently win games such as this one! Consistently winning games like the one this Saturday will take many of us off the "ledge" in the future!

Re: Where does the CU game rank?

This team needs to learn how to beat the teams they are supposed to beat because the next two years will be very rough otherwise. Saturday would be a good place to start and I agree, if we win Saturday momentum should be high and a win at Missouri would be a good possibility. If we lose, it could too heartbreaking for this team even though there will be one game left Lets just do work Saturday...I'll be there

These CU games have all been strange/unique/fun the last several years.

2004 - ISU muffs two punts and Crosby kicks 2 FG over 50 yards, including a 60 yard FG to beat ISU 19-14.

2005 - Tornado warnings lead to a Cyclone victory as Paris and Curvey get defensive scores in an upset of #22 CU at JTS night game. Awesome game. Last win over ranked opponent.

2006 - ISU drilled in Boulder and helps usher out Dan Mac era.

2007 - One of the most exciting games I have ever attended. Arrogant/stupid Hawkins goes for 4th and 1 early in 3rd on his own side of the field. Stuffed! ISU rallies from 20 point deficit and wins as CU tries twice to kick winning FG in last seconds. Between this and the OU game, I actually thought ISU was in good hands under Chiz.

2008 - Not sure I have ever seen a worse coaching performance from an ISU defensive staff. CU had not scored more than 17 points in a conference game, but ISU gives up 28 in one half after CU changes QB. ISU stuffed on the goal line to preserve the loss.

2009 - Bowl eligibility on the line.

What makes this one even worse was that we missed all 4 of our FG attempts, including 2 from within 25 yards, while Crosby hit every one of his. He hit that 60-yarder like it was nothing.

And I believe our offense was something like 0-for-5 in the red zone that day.

How does the matchup look? I haven't seen CU play at all this year. I curious what people think CU's strengths and weeknesses are and how ISU matches up.

Re: Where does the CU game rank?

I know this is water under the bridge but someone mentioned it above, again.

I don't blame a single cyclone fan for not attending the OSU game. Hey coach: Make them want to be there!!!!! Those who didn't show up were only reassured by their decision.

As for the colorado game, yes, there will be a small attendance. Who cares? If we win, all of cyclone nation can be happy, not just those who witnessed it! Don't hold a grudge.. good grief.

Our "home field advantage" is only in affect when there are 55k in the house. Not going to happen. Just be happy if you can go watch the game, because there will be plenty of cyclone fans dissapointed they couldn't go

Re: Where does the CU game rank?

I got to watch the rerun of CU vs ATM game last night. ATM defense was horrible. Why couldn't they be that horrible when they played us. The win was wrapped up by ATM QB throwing a pick in the 4th and a fumble on a terrible punt. CU looked decent and their Offense looked mediocre. ATM pretty much had their wat with them in the 1st half. CU had one reciever they would throw to when they needed a big play. the announcers said he was not consistent but this game he was up.
