How do you grade the pregame atmosphere this year?

This was one area I thought we had really improved on the last two years but nothing done as the team comes out encourages anything this year. I thought even the Iowa game this year was sad.

    I give it a D+. Last year I would have said B-.

I guess I can't see any difference. The games where the weather has been good, the atmosphere has been good. We had a couple of bad weather games.

Does the stadium even seem excited when the team comes out? The music selection doesn't help at all.

I think the sound system, video, and music could use improvement but if the team keeps improving a little each week the fans will be excited in pregame

Today was pathetic from the fan perspective. Pathetic.

And can we pppppppppppllllleeeeaaaaasssseeee take the mic away from JJ? Love what he does for ISU, but seriously, this is college football. A guy yelling inaudibly over the PA is embarrassing.

Re: How do you grade the pregame atmosphere this year?

I think a lot can be improved just with a change in the public address announcer. We need a change big-time.
Could we bring in Scott Casber (ISU wrestling) or John Larkins (ISU VB)? Someone who's not afraid to ramp it up a little...

We could very well have the best marketing group in the country making video and other promotional stuff. Not sure what you're griping about here.

I'll take over if the AD will pay for me to come up. I can keep pace with an audience...

There should be no one yelling into a microphone before the game.

I thought the fans and team were flat.

5-4 isn't good enough for fans to attend games and create an atmosphere in the stadium? 40,540 was the attendance, pretty small for a meaningful November game. I know a lot of farmers couldn't go, so I understand that.

Re: How do you grade the pregame atmosphere this year?

There's always hype around Ames in August and September. Unfortunately, we usually have more losses than wins by November and the fans give up.
