    BEER!!

Okay we've had countless discussions on beer and alcohol content related to liquor laws. Here is a nice article on it.

It's almost hard to call that "beer" anymore. Like Dogfish Head 120 Minute. Excellent brew, but it's almost a whole new animal at that point.

Troof. It's not something I'd be willing to drink while playing flippy cup.

Worldwide Stout is around 20% depending on the vintage (ranges from 19ish to 21ish).
16 is pretty tame compared to that :D
Most of the stouts I really enjoy are up in the 10-15% range.

DFH does some crazy stuff. 120 is certainly still beer by the definition of what beer is, but it tastes like no other beer I've ever tried, that's for sure.

Iowa needs to pass this "Lift the Limit" initiative. It would improve the quality of beer by a massive margin.

The biggest effect, imo, would be seeing what the local breweries could put out. It seems like we're getting more big beers imported as liquor every day, but the local guys aren't allowed to make it commercially. I'd love to see Olde Main try a double IPA or Imperial Stout.

That's what I meant. Based on the ingredients used, it's certainly beer, but the ABV and taste are at a level most beers never touch. Isn't the ABV around 20%? I knew when they didn't put it on the bottle that it had to be pretty crazy. Not to go off topic, but I'll never forget my first 120. It was to celebrate climbing this thing..

You bring up a good point. I think they could put out something pretty good too. Their specialty beers are normally pretty solid. It is there year round beers that are just mediocre.

That would be one benefit. The other is that the state ABD would no longer be in the beer importing business. There are excellent beers that don't make it to Iowa because nobody in the ABD really gives a crap about good beer. There are even brewers who won't sell their "high" ABV beers to the state because they don't have the facilities or don't care enough to store the beer properly.

Depends on the vintage, but it ranges from 19-21%. I like it, but I don't think it's all that great of an IPA. It's certainly the most extreme one I've tried though.

Congrats on climbing the mountain too!

I would agree. I was drinking a 60 Minute last night for the first time in a while, and I was really, really enjoying it. IPAs are my favorite variety of beer, and 60 Minute has to be near the top of my list.
