Re: Weekly Release - ISU vs OklaSt

If OSU is leading the nation in fewest sacks allowed, I'm going to have to go against Chris Dub's hunch and say there's a slim chance we can pull this off.

Likely little pressure on their quarter back + high powered passing offense + a lacking secondary = too many points. I'm sure we'll have plenty more points this week compared to the last two, if Austin and arob are playing the entire game... but I don't think we can out score them.

I'd be glad to be proven wrong, but after the A&M game, I would think OSU would need to make quite a few mistakes to make that happen.

We need to score 30 points and our defense needs +2 in Turnovers. I like the fact that is going to be about 70 and Sunny, but that really doesn't give us the advantage I thought we would have when looking at the schedule 1 month ago. :(

At minimum. I'm just not sure even that would get it done.

With this season you just never know what is going to happen. This team seems to surprise me every time they step on the field, either good or bad. Hopefully this will be one of those good surprises and we can pull the upset.

Re: Weekly Release - ISU vs OklaSt

Call me crazy, but I have a good feeling about this one. I don't think that OSU's passing game is as good as people think. They're currently sitting 9th in the Big XII in passing offense, and haven't come close to a 300 yard game yet this year. They're not the powerhouse passing team that they were last year.

And as for the A&M game, we moved the ball and had opportunities to score, but I think that's where not having Arnaud really hurt us. With him in the game, I think we convert most of those in to points. If he can go the whole game, and we have Robinson, I like our chances at keeping this close, and maybe pulling it out in the end.

Re: Weekly Release - ISU vs OklaSt

I don't think the chances are great, but with every game this year fans have at least had some hope of winning. The game at NU looked way tougher than this one, just because of where it was played. I doubt OSU is going to have 8 TOs, but the ISU offense should be able to do a little more than against NU.

Re: Weekly Release - ISU vs OklaSt

I kind of agree here, I see them moving the ball down the field very simliar to the way A&M did but like you said we moved the ball just fine last week, just didn't execute in the red zone. Basically the game had all the potential to be a shootout, we just didn't come through when got in scoring position. I see that being the biggest factor this week, we play another high powered offense with lots of speed but a defense that we SHOULd be able to move the ball against the key will be putting something on the scoreboard. I'm not saying we win, but wouldn't be shocked to see this game stay close.
