    Talking Dumbest Sports Cliche's

Let me get the proverbial "ball" rolling on this topic:

)THEY WON BECAUSE THEY WANTED IT MORE (I WANT TO WIN THE POWERBALL MORE THAN ANYBODY ELSE, TOO, BUT CANT SEEM TO WIN IT!)

)HE HAS "PLAYOFF" EXPERIENCE (AS OPPOSED TO JUST EXPERIENCE? DO THE RULES CHANGE IN PLAYOFFS?

We're taking it to the next level. Incredibly overused.

Hell if you could step it up to win, why not do it all the time...?

"We would have won even if those calls went Indiana's way." - Riiiiggghht

"Tyler Sash is the best safety in the FBS." My roomie after his "amazing" pick yesterday against Indiana

Kind of cliche's, I had to...

    Re: Dumbest Sports Cliche's

"Banged up" or any of its permutations. I think the worst I ever heard was when Ken Miller described a team as "bruised up".

"Props", "Mad Props" - stupid phrase used by Jim Rome wanna bes.

I have long been sick of hearing the term "step up" at least 30 times in any type of sports conversation or interview.

    No doubt about it.

    Re: Dumbest Sports Cliche's

"he just ran out of time" I hate this. Of course he did , with the excpetion of baseball most major sports have a set time. Just stupid.

Not a cliche but why do people always call a "reverse" a "double reverse"? Even the "professionals" in the booth make that mistake all the time. A double reverse would be handing to the RB who hands to the WR (a reverse) who then hands to another WR.

I can't stand when they say that a team needs to get "untracked"
Would Union Pacific think getting "untracked" is a good thing?

We have to outscore our opponent. Or we have to play great D because we can't outscore our opponent.

I have never heard that. I have heard that they need to get ON Track.

I think we need less mindless cliche and more Yogi, Mickey Rivers, etc just butchering it.

Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving.

This year it seems like the big phrase is "pick 6". Holy crap, if we had a credit for every time that was said...
