Weather in Colorado? Is it December Already?

Holy cow! I was just looking at the Denver Post...is it common to have October snow storms in the urban areas? Multiple school closings...roads closed...airport impacted...

I know there are Cyclone Fanatic posters in Colorado...how bad is the weather over there???

Omaha TV station this morning reporting possibly a foot of snow or more in Eastern Wyoming in the next couple of days, possibly more in the higher elevations.

Well its snowing. They are saying it should be worse by this evening and tomorrow. It only took me about double the time to get to work this morning. Hopefully the roads are plowed when I head home. My wife on the other hand is and she is at home sleeping.

Some of the resorts in Summit County are expecting 1-2 feet by Thursday evening and possibly 3 feet in some favorable areas. Oh, how I love spending the day on the slopes with a huge snowstorm blowing through.. I wish I was there!

Re: Weather in Colorado? Is it December Already?

The mountains have been buried in snow for a month. We tried to go hiking about 3 weeks ago and the last 3 miles of road to the trail-head already had 3 inches of snow. The trail-head really wasn't that much higher than us, but it was farther inward. It's been snowing/raining every other day since

Re: Weather in Colorado? Is it December Already?

My company just moved me from Denver to Houston. I don't miss it one bit.

I'm going to the Driving Range, then a 3-mile jog after work.

Have fun shoveling the snow Denver.

Re: Weather in Colorado? Is it December Already?

I've lived in the Denver area for 15 years and this isn't uncommon. Of the 4 biggest storms I've experienced living here, 1 was in October, 1 in March, and 2 in December (within 10 days of eachother).

Attached is a picture out the window at work where you can normally see the mountains. The snow reportedly has just begun.

I take it you're not a big skier or snowboarder?
