Projected Starters for O-Line Next Year

What does everyone think the O-Line will look like next year? I have been very pleased with the production of our offensive line thus far, and have found myself looking ahead to next year. Who steps up in Reggie's place and how does that effect the productivity of our line?

    My best guess...

LT: KO - gonna be a stud in the NFL someday
LG: Hicks? - not sure here / assuming alvarez moves back to center
C: Alvarez? - does he make the move back to center? or is there someone else waiting in the wings?
    RG: Lamaak - solid
RT: Haughton - young and very promising

My prediction is that there is very little dropoff between this years line and next years line, if any, if someone steps into Reggie's leadership position. Lamaak maybe?

    Thoughts?

    Why does Osemele get benched?

I would probably guess Lamaak will end up at center with Hicks taking his RG position.

Re: Projected Starters for O-Line Next Year

How nice is it that O-line is not a real concern for ISU, at any position? It looks like we are actually developing *gasp* depth even.

I know I sure don't miss Marty Fine.

Haughton moves inside to team up in some combination with Alvarez & Lamaak. Pick the best fit at center and the other 2 line up at guard. I hope that Haughton is next year's version of Reggie as it's a real plus to have a physical center. If he can't master the stance, snaps, and calls then try Lamaak with Alvarez as the fall back option.

Hicks returns to provide improved depth, but more is needed. Burris takes over at tackle.

Re: Projected Starters for O-Line Next Year

it feels awesome to have KO and Haughton around for 2 more years. They are going to anchor this line. I think we could see Laamak move to center and Hicks step in at guard.

...another thing that wouldnt suprise me would be Haughton moving to guard, and Burris taking over at RT because the staff really likes Burris.

    But that's no fun...

I kinda got a man-crush going on right now for the O-Line. I brag them up to anyone I tell about ISU football.

Just hoping I have the same bragging rights next year...

Re: Projected Starters for O-Line Next Year

    My guess:

    LT: KO
    LG: Alvarez
    C: Lamaak
    RG: Haughton
    RT: Burris

I guess this because when Lamaak left last game, Haughton shifted inside and Burris played at RT. Also, because B Burris has been excellent all year off the bench as our 6th OL, and he is just a redshirt freshmen this year. I am basically just guessing between AA and BL as to who moves to Center next year.

Close, but I think they sign a juco for the left side, KO slides over to the right, and Hicks might beat out someone.
