    Congratulations

As a college football fan I am amazed at how little fighting between the Cyclone and Hawkeye faithful is going on. Maybe the success of each college is more enjoyed when each college is having success and worries about the other one much less. Congrats to both schools success this year!

    Re: Congratulations

There is nothing that says you can't have 2 successful in-state teams. Personally I have decided that it is a good thing to show the nation that a team in IOWA can have success. Plus, I have so many people I care for that root for UofI--wasn't worth the hate.

    Re: Congratulations

actually, it would be nice to just have both fanbases get up for Cy-Hawk then just go their separate ways every year, wish the other one luck. It'd be refreshing.

    Re: Congratulations

This would have been a great year to have the Iowa/ISU at the end of the year. Both team would have had something to play for at the end of this year.

    Re: Congratulations

To be honest, it probably also has something to do with the fact that we lost to them 35-3 on our home field. Not much smack we can run after that, and Iowa has other things to think about right now.

I have no problem with Iowa right now. But that still doesn't mean I like them.

    Re: Congratulations

I would only say on the Cyclone board, and not on any Hawk board, but I hope Iowa loses out and I'll cheer for any team playing Iowa.

I got extra skin in this game, since I grew up in IC :)

    This.

If ISU would have lost the game in a way like UNI did... imagine the postings you would see.

Who cares about Iowa. We have a chance at a bowl this year. We can have both fan bases be happy.

I guess as I get older I hate Iowa less and less. Some of my best friends are hawk fans, and honestly, I want to see them happy.

I agree, out of school, working with hawk fans that I actually like...it just takes too much energy to straight-up hate Iowa.

I think its a combination of this and that we both are doing well. We arent going and talking smack to them because of the beatdown, and because theyre doing well, they mostly feel no need to come and start talking **** over here.

Of course, it didnt stop me from getting texts from a few iowa fans after the KSU and KU games..

    Re: Congratulations

Right now both teams are pretty much excceding expectations. Both sets of fans are basking in that, therefore too busy to hack on each other too much. Also, I agree with previous poster. When you get whacked 35-3 its hard to throw too much smack.
