I think the Big 12 and Big 10 are pretty interchangable along with the ACC. Lots of blah teams and one decent highly ranked team who hasn't looked great.

I'd say the SEC and Pac-10 are probably up there above everybody else like you said.

Re: how would you rank the BcS conferences?

It would be very hard to rate the Big 12 anywhere near the top.

The North has Texas, which we know is a very good football team and I still believe Oklahoma is a top level team. Other than that, only Oklahoma State is worth mentioning. Texas Tech is up-and-down, who can figure out A & M, and without Griffin, Baylor has proven not to be very good.

The entire North is medocre at best. Kansas is good offensively, but lousy on the defensive side of the ball. Nebraska is good defensively, but pathetic offensively. Iowa State is average, at best offensively, and although improving, still not great defensively. We all know Kansas State will crash land, and both Missouri and Colorado have been disappointments.

As much as it now pains me to say it, I think the Little 11, with a very good Iowa team and pretty darned good Ohio State and Penn State teams, is at least on par with the Big 12. Yes, I had to hold my nose to say that (and eat some crow at the same time), but unfortunately, it's true.

IMO, they should be ranked in this order: (1) SEC; (2) PAC 10; (3) Big XII; (4) Mountain West; (5) ACC; (6) Big East; (7) Big 10; (8) Conference USA; (9) WAC; (10) MAC; (11) Sun Belt.

With all due respect, PGreen, how could you rate the Little 11 behind the Mountain West, the ACC and the Big East with Iowa, Ohio State and Penn State. Michigan State, Michigan and Wisconsin are all very respectable, better than most of the also-rans in the Mountain West, the ACC and the Big East.

Can you send me some of what you're smokin'?

You were doing good until you said Ohio State is pretty darn good. They got whipped by Purdue. They are usually good but this year they are not.

By the way are we talking last 10 years on these rankings or just this year?

Re: how would you rank the BcS conferences?

    1) SEC
    2a) Big 12
    2b) Pac 10
    3a) Big East
    3b) ACC
    3c) Big 10

What I'm saying is that the Pac-10 and Big 12 are about equal, as are the Big East, ACC, and Big 10.

Re: how would you rank the BcS conferences?

This year, anybody who has the Big 12 ranked higher than the ACC or the Big Ten is smoking crack. Those three conferences are even right now.

The Pac Ten is a 3 team league - but those three teams are very strong (Zona, USC, Oregon). SEC has Florida and Alabama to hang their hats on, but everybody below them are also pretty mediocre.

This seems to be an overall mediocre season for college football. No dominant team.

For me, Pac 10, SEC, Big 10/12, ACC, Big East

I penalized the conference 4 spots for being called the Big 10 when there are 11 teams in the conference. Also bias and personal dislike came into play.

Gotta love the honesty in that response.
