    Tim Barnes

A couple years back there was a player named Tim Barnes. I was just wondering if he was related to Harrison Barnes. Sorry if already discussed.

Hopefully, you are aware that Harrison Barnes is the son of ISU great Ronnie Harris.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I actually recall him being very inconsistant at the beginning of his first year but then growing into a pretty solid player at the seasons end. I remember expectations and buzz growing around him but then he got kicked off the team or left or something like that?

Umm no, he was pretty dang good.

I don't think you remember correctly. He was a pretty decent PG in his one year here. Started slow and then was playing real well at the end of the season. Then he was academically ineligible.

    Re: Tim Barnes

Tim was really quick, solid, and smart PG. He was able to create his own shot, and also a good passer.

It was unfortunate to see him declared academically ineligible second year :(

yep, which was unfortunate. really could have used him his sr year. Too bad for him too to lose his last year of college eligibility on something he could have controlled.

I was not a fan at all of Morgan's coaching abilities, but a little known story that I think shows what a nice person he was: after Barnes was declared ineligible and his career was over at ISU WM offered to pay for him to finish his degree at ISU. If I recall correctly he opted to try to play professionally instead, which didn't really pan out...

    Re: Tim Barnes

Haha, my sister dated Tim for a couple years in school. I have no idea where he is now, and what he's been up to. Some crazy stories of them getting pulled over by Iowa State Patrol and getting away with no tickets or anything because they were ISU bball players

    Re: Tim Barnes

I remember playing ball with him at the rec when I was still at ISU. I remember him talking a lot about going over seas to play. Not sure how that worked out for him.

    Wasn't he from Kentucky?
