    Tired of Hawk BS

Gosh can't I turn on the tv without seeing that Hawk crap! I am watching Baseball Tonight from Disney World, and there is some guy flashing his Hawk cap on tv. A couple of weeks ago I was watching the Today show and I saw another one. Don't these people have better things to do ? Heck even when I go to a Cubs game in Chicago, I see this crap, why can't they wear there Cub gear, like the rest of us do ?

I'll probably get negative rep for this because of the amount of Cub fans on the board, but generalizing, I think both fan bases are very similar. They're large, and they always think they're better than they really are.

Now watch my rep drop like a rock.

Iowa fans do tend to wear hawkeye crap in public a lot, like it's something to be proud of . I was watching the Nissan Open golf tournament in LA a few weeks back and some joke was wearing a bright gold IOWA shirt. I guess you can't fault people for reppin their school, although I don't wear ISU stuff everywhere I go, that's for sure.

I had to buy more clothes after college because it was all I owned. It still dominates my gym wardrobe .... and likely always will.

I wear a long sleeve ISU tshirt to work every day. You need to find a job where you can wear ISU gear daily.

Definitely. I also have a nice ISU polo I wear anytime I take a golfing trip to rep the cardinal and gold, but otherwise I just wear normal stuff. Don't need people thinking I'm from Iowa either... j/k

    Re: Tired of Hawk BS

Last August our family went to Disney World which as you know is the one in Florida. We'd been there like three days when it occurred to me I hadn't seen one lousy Hawkeye yet and how nice that was. Well, about a half hour later, I spot this big middle-aged goober standing there with one of those commemorative bowl sweatshirts from the 2004 Outback Bowl proclaiming Iowa's big win over Florida. I mean it's in the low 90's out and this jerk just "happens" to have packed this sweatshirt and is wearing it to rub Florida's nose in it. He's standing there trying to look nonchalant but at the same time you can see just how pleased with himself he is.

When I visit my in-laws in Coralville, I pack nothing but Cyclone gear. T-shirts in the summer, and sweatshirts and stocking caps in the winter. I keep a few (maybe 4 or 5) Cyclone peices in my clothing rotation, but more and more of my stuff is also being relegated to workout wear. It's slowly replacing all my Ames High stuff. My 14 month old daughter has around 10 items of Cyclone clothing.

I was in Arizona over Halloween proudly wearing an ISU T-shirt and saw a guy wearing a Iowa hat. He looked over, gave me a dirty look, then giggled towards his family.

When I was in Daytona over Spring Break a few years back, I wore ISU clothes everyday. Had a nice polo to wear at the clubs.

    Re: Tired of Hawk BS

I have noticed this all over the state...iowa seems to be quicker to flaunt their clothes bcuz if they see someone in ISU gear or UNI or w/e they are condescending dicks about it...I don't give a crap, I LOVE IOWA STATE...So I wear ISU clothing everywhere...if the only time you wear ISU stuff is to an athletic event and never anywhere else in public, you aren't that big of a Cyclone fan and definitely not a FANATIC. My favorite thing to do last year was wear my State Champs 23-3 shirt in Iowa City...AND I STILL DO IT when I go...either that or my "Search For Intelligence" Shirt that says the only sign of intelligent life in Iowa City is Ames 136 miles...LOL!!! :) Huck The Fawks ppl!

This entire state needs to turn into nothing but Cardinal & Gold clothing and gear...AND GAWD I am sick of seeing that ugly bird logo on hats of overweight chokeye fans...

I guess I ca'nt blame Iowa fans for showing their school pride when they go places because I wear ISU gear EVERYwhere I go. Except twins games when I deck out in all my twins stuff.

"School Pride" implies that you may have gone to "school". And I doubt that 99% of the schmuckeye fan-base has been to ANY "school" if you get my drift.

I still wear my tattered "Flintstone Schmuckeyes" shirt to mow the lawn and drink beer in.
