Exclamation We've got to keep these coaches

IMO, we've got the best set of assistant coaches we've had in maybe forever. Herman will get a head coaching gig in the near future but we need to be able to pay these guys to stay as long as possible. It is very critical that we are able to raise as much money as possible.

I'm going to double my NCC donation for 2010. I'm only a States 250 member but if a decent number of people can just up their donations a little but it could make a difference.

This is about the only thing us fans can do to help the program directly. If you've got the money, consider giving more!

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

Oh we're going to lose somebody sooner or later. That's normal and part of college football.

I'm not so sure why everyone is worried about losing Hermen. Frankly I haven't been overly impressed with his work so far.

Wally on the other hand has done wonders.

IMO, because we need some continuity with our schemes instead of having to relearn new systems every 3-5 years.

I think both coordinators have been upgrades, as well as Ash.
As fans we all need to give JP more money to work with.

I don't think that wally would leave. He is coaching with his son at a program that is doing well. I wouldn't doubt it if he decided to retire after a few years here though.

Re: We've got to keep these coaches

I like what i have seen so far by these coaches, love it actually but lets wait til the end of the season before we start throwing our money around like Fat Joe at a strip club....

These coaches still have plenty to prove and they even know that, so lets hold the applause until the season is over, not trying to discourage anyone from putting money forth, im just saying our coaches still have alot to prove

Edit: And i know i am probably going to get reamed for my comment as well

Yes, that's why I neglected to mention Wally in my original post.

Re: We've got to keep these coaches

Hasn't wally hinted that this would be his last stop before retiring? I believe I remember hearing something like that in an interview as well as posts on here. Also, with Herman, I think he will be a coordinator at another school before he becomes a head coach. Unless he stays here for 5-7 years. Herman is still a young coach.

Re: We've got to keep these coaches

    1. We have to come up with money to pay our assistant coaches more. The last report I saw had ISU dead last in the big 12 in that category.

    2. I'm hoping Rhoades has already started compiling lists of good candidates to replace the coaches we are going to lose...

A thought i had... arent we still paying for some of gene's assistants? As soon as we stop having to pay them, just use that money in the budget to pay our assistants more.

ask arnaud if he wants to learn a new offense again next season.

I've had much the same thought about our coaches. Game ball to the coaching staff for yesterday. Does anyone think any of our previous staffs could have won in Lincoln with this team? This staff's game plans and adustments are head and shoulders above what we've seen in the past. The coaches have already earned a pay raise.

I'm hoping that Herman is mentoring someone so maybe there is someone on the inside that can take over when the day comes that he moves on. I think that we already have that on defense with Ash.
