    LSU Quote on Auburn

This is a quote from the LSU quarterback on how they prepared for Auburn yesterday, which LSU won 31-10:

"Watching film on the previous teams Auburn played really helped us prepare," Jefferson said. "We noticed they got passed on a lot, and a lot of touchdowns were thrown on them, and they gave up a lot of passing yards. We looked at that this week in practice and really focused on our passing game."

Makes you flashback to last season. Glad CPR is here!

Again, we won that trade hands-down.

If I were a better man, I'd feel guilty about it. But I don't.

    Thanks, Auburn!

I feel like we got ahead of ourselves thinking that just because LSU had the statistically worst offense in the SEC that we would have a chance of stopping them. The thing is, no matter what the reason, our defense can't stop anybody, ANYBODY, unless we get turnovers. That was a big reason why we didn't see losses in the first 5. We got big turnovers on defense and that gave our offense more opportunities.

Huh....sounds VERY familiar. You know, like how we weren't forced to punt even once against A$M last year, had 574 yards of offense and 34 first downs but still lost by 2 TD's because our defense couldn't stop ANYONE.

    Guilty? No.

But perplexed about why we signed Chiz for two more years before he bolted to Auburn? Yes.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

that was done for program stability. clearly jeannie had blamed the problems on poor coordinators, and Jamie found that logical and offered to extend if new coordinators were brought in to fix the issues. It was at that point, that God stepped in and decided we had put up with enough Chizzy BS and moved him out of Ames to Auburn, so we could find a true coach to lead us.

Yeah - Auburn had a solid defense last season under Rhoads. The whole situation amuses me.

Interesting article on Bobby Lowder in Fortune this month. Doesn't specifically talk about Chizik, but Lowder's infuence on the Auburn Football Program.
