    Special Teams Question......

Where is the problem on the extra points and field goals? As bad of kickers we've had.....we've NEVER had this many xtra pts blocked. Is it coaching? Or is it the o-line? Whichever.....someone needs their ***** chewed! It will cost us another game! I would of thought after the K-State lose that it would of got turned around.

Today I think it was Suh pushing through the middle of the line as much as anything, but it's just in Grant's head. He'll be fine.

from what I saw today, it looked like the O-line.

NHL teams need to be added to the favorite teams section.

    Re: Special Teams Question......

Just think how crappy it would have been if kNU had pushed down and gotten a field goal at the end there to win the game.

I still think we need to line the holder up about 3 yards further back than they have been to give Mahoney more space to get the ball in the air.

I had the same thought, but I'm not sure if that's legal?

You can line up as far back as you want to.

    Re: Special Teams Question......

Just a little off topic but...

Seems like we've seen more blocked FG's than normal this year.

Iowa blocked two in a row to escape UNI
Alabama blocked one to escape Tennessee today

How 'bout a blocked aTm FG attempt as time runs out to escape with a win next Sat.? Since things are starting to bounce our way.

During the game I was commenting that it seems like Grant was waiting til the ball was set to start his approach. He needs to be starting it as the ball is snapped. That split second is the likely difference in timing on the blocks...

I did hear Jack Whitver mention something similar in the call-in show also...

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

It looks like an o-line issue to me. We have to stop the push up the gut.

You raise an interesting point. I am about to grab a cold beer and watch the game again (DVR is great!). I will watch for that.

    Re: Special Teams Question......

I noticed last year that Grant has a tendency to kick some balls with a very low trajectory, rather than lofting it.

I'd think that on a PAT it would be more like a chip shot...any kickers out there?

Part of this fanbase is like the parable of the blind men and the elephant.

    Who knew?

Speaking of which, this is the first ISU game, football or basketball, that I've DVR'd and they've won! The secret is that I recorded one channel, and watched another. Jinx broken!

True, but not the problem today. On the Fg, there was no chance. On the PAT, it may have been a little low but we got knocked back three yards and that can't happen. When it happened I put the KSU one on him because that came out low and a little left like he came over the top. These weren't the same

It's all snark from here on out
