this historic victory against the Cornhuskers ?

On Friday, I promised my coworkers that I'd bring bagels to the entire department if we win. There are ~20 people in my department.

I have to admit that I broke down and called 3 of my former team members that I knew this win would mean alot to.I also recieved 2 other calls from former teammates.Keep in mind this was guys that I hadnt talked to in about 10 years.Everyone was very excited about the win today.....but more excited about what it means for the future of ISU football.

In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

I'm an alumni of both Iowa State and Oregon State. I guess it was too much to expect for two 19 point underdogs to both win on the same day. So in retrospect I'm ecstatic that Iowa State won but at the same time I am in mourning that Oregon State got thrashed by USC.

My dad called about two minutes after the game. I've been thinking about the win all day, and will probably wake up tomorrow doing the same. Our CFO is a Husker, so I'll probably celebrate by not mentioning it. It will just hang there in the air, unsaid, but known!

I think I'll take eight apple turnovers in on Monday morning and share them with the Nebbie fans in the office.

    Re: How Will/Do/Did You Celebrate

I cried for awhile (damn straight I did - we haven't won in Lincoln since I've existed!), called/emailed friends & family for awhile and then cleaned the garage with a smile on my face.....best damn garage cleaning I've ever done.

    Re: How Will/Do/Did You Celebrate

I cracked open an ice cold Dublin Dr. Pepper and drank it really slowly to savor the flavor of the victory AND the best beverage in the world. I'm serious. I don't have many Dublins left and they're expensive. I save them for special occasions.

I also sat back for a few minutes and thought of all the kicks to the stones we've taken over the years and of how great it felt to finally be the one watching another fanbase get kicked in the stones.

I also cried at the end of the game. I thought when the Huskers got the ball in the last play before the interception that we might have another heart-breaking loss.
Called another Cyclone who now lives in the UK - he was absolutely ecstatic.

    Re: How Will/Do/Did You Celebrate

I freaked my dog out pretty much the whole game pacing back and forth, I don't think I sat for more than a minute. Then screamed and went crazy for about 5 minutes after that I talked on the phone for about an hour to several friends, most were Husker fans that actually weren't too bitter. I got pretty emontional as well, wishing my dad could've seen this. He tooke me to too many games to count and would've been so excited.

What a great day to be a Cyclone!!!!!

    Re: How Will/Do/Did You Celebrate

I gave the ol' Tiger Woods fist pump. Hugged my buddy. Tried to text my friends, but couldn't because my fingers were trembling. Giggled like a giddy school girl. And have been searching on the internet for different things about the amazing game!
