    2007-2008 Schedule

When do they release the 07-08 schedule? Does anyone know what the nonconference schedule is like?

I think Floyd would get a standing o if he ever made it back to Hilton. His time was short but his results were great!

I'm not so sure about that. I think I heard once that he was a little disgruntled with Gene Smith who was our A.D. at the time and some things were promised that never came through. He's also good friends with Larry Eustchay and when that whole mess occured it maybe left a bad taste in his mouth(like it did everbody up here no matter who's "side" you were on.)

However, I think Tim really appreciated the fans up here. I talked with the guy several times and he was a classy guy to talk to. Personable and not near the !@# Eustachy could be. He did some good things and he had a tough act to follow in Johnny Orr. I for one will give him a standing ovation if he ever comes back.

We of course play UNI, Drake and Iowa with UNI and Iowa being at home. We play Minnesota at home this year and we play at Oregon State, in the Big 12/ Pac 10 challenge.

    Re: 2007-2008 Schedule

Floyd would definately get a warm welcome from Cyclone fans. He really helped this program to turn the corner. The problem is that after he left it kept turning until it was a downward spiral.
Nice to be out of that spiral again.
Anyway, I actually cheer for USC when their basketball team is on TV. Quite the oposite from their football team.

I agree, Floyd would get a very nice welcome from the Hilton crowd. Boy those teams could play some solid defense...

    Re: 2007-2008 Schedule

I agree--Tim Floyd is a favorite of mine. He was a great recruiter and team motivator. I often cheer for his USC Trojans when they're on TV. The only complaint I have about his team is that O.J. Mayo seems to be a troublemaker, and when he gets there, how will that reflect on the program? Hopefully he'll be able to control himself.

As good of story line that would be, we will end up playing Oregon State. The conference commissioners bascially ranked all the teams in the conferences and had the top dogs play each other, so on and so forth. Maybe down the road it will happen, but not for the next 2 years...at least.

    Re: 2007-2008 Schedule

Tim Floyd would recieve a standing ovation. Tim was the best basketball coach we've ever had bar-none. I don't remember any bad terms, there was disbelief that he got an nba job, but no bad feelings.

Hindrich had committed to ISU. He only went to KU because Tim Floyd had moved on and Larry Eustachy was an unknown quanity. I'm not sure if we were ever in the running with Collison or Lafrenz.

It doesn't matter. I really enjoyed watching us beat all those players. It was especially satisfying the year Hindrich and Collison came to Hilton, we won and went on to the Elite 8.

Basketball schedules typically aren't announced until the 1st week of August, so you'll have to wait a while.

    Re: 2007-2008 Schedule

Floyd's teams made cuts better than anyone I've ever seen. His discipline was phenomenal and I loved watching how he coached Holloway. All his job was to make sure the ball didn't get turned over. He didn't need to score or rebound, just get the ball to the scorer's and play good defense.
