    ISU wins the North?

Remaining North schedules with my predictions:

KSU is 3-1 with these games remaining: @ OU, KU, Mizzou and @ Neb. 4-4

    ISU 2-2, @ A&M, OSU, CU, @ Mizzou. 5-3

KU 1-1 playing vs. OU, at Tech, @KSU, Neb, @ Texas, Mizzou 4-4

Mizzou will be 0-3 after tonight, @ CU, Baylor, @KSU, ISU @KU. 4-4

    Neb 1-2: @Baylor, OU, @ KU, KSU, @CU. 4-4

    CU 1-2: Mizzou, A&M, @ ISU, @ OSU, Neb 2-6

I think my math works out. What I am saying is ISU has a major hand in whether or not they can win the North. I think the tiebreaker with Neb will be huge.

Definitely possible, but even a bowl game would be a huge success IMO

With the games left, I think Nebraska has an easy schedule besides OU

    Re: ISU wins the North?

Wayyyyyy premature. I really think KSU has the inside track to win it at 5-3. The sickening thing is that will probably give Snyder the coach of the year over Rhoads perhaps.

Really, we should root for Nebraska to win against Kansas and Kansas State

This win was based on guts and a good portion of luck, can't count on that in the future and our schedule is still plenty tough. No I don't think we win the North.

We can win the North if we win out.

    K-State will have to stumble.

When was the last time ISU has been able to say those two words in the same sentence though....

"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."

I just like how everyone around the Big 12 was making fun of "Farmageddon" a few weeks ago. Look who is No.1 and No. 2 in the North halfway through the Big 12 schedule...

    Re: ISU wins the North?

I was actually just working out what needed to happen for ISU to win the North last night, considering the upheaval we were already experiencing within the Big 12 North. The preseason pick already had a loss, Mizzou is 0-2... lots of things could happen, but the biggest thing we already need to have happen is for Kansas to lose one more (assuming they don't come back to beat OU) and Kansas State to lose two games more games and for us to win the rest of ours. Don't forget that they both own the tiebreaker over us.

But beating the next biggest threat for the Big 12 north crown is a major step for making this a reality.

    Re: ISU wins the North?

Updated my prediction chart, yes, it's safe to say that today could potentially be the difference maker. Despite the Husker's reactions (finishing the season 4-8? Come on.), they likely have 3 wins left on their schedule and 2 losses, putting them at 7-5 (4-4)

Kansas could also be the same boat, finishing 8-4 (4-4), and Kansas State, suprisingly, could finish 6-6 (4-4)... although KSU has a very tough remaining schedule.

If this were the case, ISU can still afford to lose one game, but MUST win the other 3.

EDIT: Even if four teams are 4-4 across the Big 12 North, KU would be the North champ because it owns wins over Nebraska, ISU, and Kansas State. And God help us if Missouri beats Texas tonight and goes 4-4. :P

And if that continues, and ISU continues to get better (and if Snyder is turning things around down there) how good will that be to have that game at a neutral site next year instead of in Manhattan?

Possible but I wouldn't count on it.

See the 35-6 licking a down OU team is currently laying on them.

We need to play very well the rest of the regular season to give ourselves a chance. I think we could maybe win out, with a little luck against Okie State.
