    Schwartz and other positives

It's time to give JS some credit. He made positive yardage every carry against one of the top front 7's in the nation. And no turnovers.

Offensive line - they were the mvp of this game imho.

JT - few mistakes while under enormous pressure. And no turnovers

Entire Defense - what was the total yards allowed in the second half? 50 yards???

    Brantner for president....

Coaching staff - great game plan, great halftime adjustments (when was the last time a cyclone coaching staff made ANY halftime adjustments? 1977?) great job motivating the players, and to top it all off, great job recruiting so far...

Wow. It's fun to be a cyclone.

It was hard to watch the O but they did what they had to do against a good D in a tough place to play. There were 4 freshman of the field at many times during the game. What was shown was how important ARob and AA are to this team.

    Re: Schwartz and other positives

Nice game out of Schwartz. And Tiller.

Others have said it, and it may be true. ISU may have the best or one of the best lines in the Big12.

    Yes I just typed that.

In all honesty it sucked....22 carries for 50 yards is not good enough imo. This shows how good Arob is. I like Schwartz, but he has a long way to go before he is a solid starter.

Can you be anymore negative in a win? He stepped up & did the best he could against NU defense. I'd hate to see what you're like in a lose!

It was what I wanted to see out of a freshman tailback playing @ Nebraska. He took on that DL with every carry, got positive yards, and most importantly didn't fumble! A great game from Schwartz and should be the start of a promising career as a cyclone!

    Re: Schwartz and other positives

That 4th quarter drive the offense made to burn 7 minutes of the clock was crucial. I would have liked to see us go 93 yards for a touchdown but they did what they had to do to give the D some rest and put the team in a position to win.

I was very impressed with both Tiller and Schwartz, particularly Tiller. Totally calm, looked like a leader, lost the ball a few times but did not turn it over. Dude was nails. Talk about baptism by fire. First collegiate start and he wins in Lincoln, Nebraska. Schwartz made positive yards on just about every play and he might have had some 10+ yard runs if he had ARob's speed.

    Re: Schwartz and other positives

I was just hoping for a couple of 1st downs every series so we could punt it deep and give them bad field position. The offense didn't do much, but they fought and fought and fought against a really tough defense. Not turnovers on our part, huge!

No, he didn't. Lost a yard on one of his last carries.

Other than that, I can't argue a whole lot with your post--but we do need ARob back, or someone else to emerge,.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

Yeah the numbers aren't great, but Suh is being talked about as a Heisman cannidate!!! And JS is making positive yardage...
(Again, massive props to the O Line)
