New Cyclone Alley Free Throw Distraction

Got an e-mail a couple a days ago from Cyclone Alley talking about implementing a new free throw distraction. What do ya'll think?

If you could get everybody to do it "correctly and insync" it would look pretty awesome.

How about we play Sweet Caroline during every free-throw? The students will sway back and fourth while the player is getting ready to shoot, and then they will shout "so good, so good, so good" when he shoots.

Perhaps it would be better if they yell "No good, no good, no good". combining Neil Diamond and "No good" would keep anyone from making a free throw.

I'm a big fan of everyone having their hands straight up, then right before the free throw shooter releases the ball, everyone shifts in the same direction. i just think that would be terribly distracting!

Re: New Cyclone Alley Free Throw Distraction

Studies have shown the best way to disrupt depth perception is to take two contrasting colors (black and white), move them in one direction and then shift them in the opposite direction.

What would be neat would be to dress Cyclone Alley in alternating black and white, have them alternating jumping, then switch right before the shot.

It will never happen because it requires too much coordination but that would be far more effective then moving arms one direction then another.

Re: New Cyclone Alley Free Throw Distraction

I am not a fan of the shift to the side or the stand up or the sit down routines. I would not be a fan of this roller coaster theme either. I just think a good old fashion SCREAM with hands waving all over and feet stomping to make as much noise as possible is the best distraction. Unfortunately, that isn't done anymore. We've all heard the stories about the Hilton floor shaking during a free throw. Won't happen again with these dorky routines.

I think we should fire spitballs at the shooter.

Two hot chicks making out under the basket. Similar move proved successful in The Replacements.

High school kids have been doing the roller coaster for a while now. they get close together for the best effect. They have a blast.
