Exclamation Support for the Flag Runner

Do you guys think there is any way that we can start an email petition or something with Jamie or anyone else in a position of power to try and keep this tradition alive? There must be a way to continue this great part of the BB games and keep the coliseum's liability down at the same time.

Also, for the Flag Guy himself, I know this is a personal thing you started on your own, but if there is any way you can see to pass this down to someone else within Cyclone Alley, it would be great. Even though it's relatively new, I think it's a big part of Hilton Magic, and something I really hope will continue long into the future.

C'mon Fanatics, don't let this tradition die!

Re: Support for the Flag Runner

I would think, since I think he always runs at the last media timeout, that the ushers in the balcony could block those areas just for the short time he's running. If it's a safety issue that is the reason, that is.
I'm in sec 204 balcony and he always starts there, so if I can get to him I'm gonna try to thank him today.

Re: Support for the Flag Runner

Funny story... at the last game the guys I was standing with over head a couple of the ushers Joking "She wants to throw him out so bad but we can't catch him..." (She actually met me at one of the stairs and made me go down, so if you happen to see a lady in a blue suit jacket standing in the middle of the balcony tonight... know that she's trying to stop me ;-) )

As for passing it on, I was actually contemplating the best way to go about passing it on the day before the lady came down hard on me... I would be happy to pass the tradition on to keep it alive.

For the e-mail petition, it could possibly help, but Hilton itself is not owned by the atheletics department so at best he could talk with the appropriate supervisor (I do not know who that is... I could possibly find out)

Hope that sheds some light on things, and now I'm going to go sleep so I can run tonight (Yay 26 hour trivia marathons!!!)

Shame on the ushers for trying to stop you! It's a great tradition, I think ISU should do something to allow it and tell those ushers to back off!

I know he's got some great ones from this year. He should start a gallery on here, I want to see them, too, and he has a lot of good ones from FB season.

Give 'em hell tonight, little bro! Wish I could be there with you.

Re: Support for the Flag Runner

To clarify most of the ushers support me or atleast don't care, it's one of the head people that gets mad (So please don't yell at your local usher!)

I did body paint for football at Homecoming and Missouri (For those that watch Sound off, I was one of the guys with the "Diamond cutting Pepperoni nipples" as was Superfan

I look forward to seeing all of you tonight and cheering on oteh Cyclones

If you were the guy at the "tornado" game last year with the hat & "cyclone warning" cardboard sign - I got a couple sweet pictures to send your from when we rushed the field.

Re: Support for the Flag Runner

I think one of the greatest things about the flag guy is that everyone, including kids, young adults, and the old folks all really enjoy seeing him run. I think the flag guy is a part of bringing back Hilton Magic, and I salute you.

I was just thinking about what would happen if when she's going to stop you, and if you see her coming, if you just turned around and started running the other way she really couldn't do anything to you. I'm not trying to get you into trouble, but that's just an idea.
