    Cubs set to hire Jaramillo

Former Rangers hitting coach to sign multi-year deal Cubs set to hire Jaramillo | cubs.com: News

looks like things are starting to move along. Sounds as if Bradley may still be there next year also. We Cubs fans will know today sometime

"Jaramillo does know Piniella, and the two talked at least twice during the season, as the Cubs tried to find a way to get Milton Bradley back on track. Bradley led the American League in on-base percentage in 2008 with the Rangers, hitting .321 overall. On Saturday, Jaramillo said he hadn't seen Bradley enough to explain his drop-off. "

It's not that the they were afraid, it's that McPhail chose not to spend the money. He operated the Cubs like a small-market team.

Hendry has made some serious mistakes with some of his free-agent signing, but under McPhail those signings never would have been attempted.

Re: Cubs set to hire Jaramillo

The Cubs gave Jaramillo a three-year contract, reportedly worth $2.42 million. His program includes what he calls five simple steps to hitting. Among the steps are finding a good rhythm, timing the arm release point, shifting weight and staying square on the ball.

They say he likes his hitters to be aggressive........Soriano being aggressive could be scary. HR or Bust, but then again what would be new?

Well I guess they need an overpaid hitting coach to work with their roster of overpaid players right?

Soriano has always been agressive. The only 2 players on the Cubs that takes pitches are Lee and A Ram.

I'd be shocked if Bradley is there next year.
