I'm sure I've seen (or started) a thread on this, but felt the need to start another one.

My son just finished his first season in the IYFL (Indianola Youth Football League), and has participated in several sports previously.

Volunteer youth coaches really deserve a lot of credit for the work they do with our young people, and the time that they put in. In football, we had three 1 1/2 hour practices a week, plus a game, and I have nothing but positive things to say about these guys/gals as leaders of young people. Perhaps we've been lucky in the sports my son has been in, but every one has had coaches who pushed him, but also encouraged him even more, and made it not only a great learning experience, but also great fun for him (and me).

Hats off to those who do this, in any sport or other activities.
