Alabama is the New AP #1

Looks like the Tide jumped Florida for the top spot in the AP top 25.

    Other Notes:

    - Iowa is up to seventh.
    - Nebraska dropped out of the rankings.
    - Kansas dropped to 24th.
    - Oklahoma is hanging in there at 25.

Alabama deserves it imo...they have the most impressive overall resume and really haven't had a single scare put into them yet.

Also...why is everybody just labeling Tebow as the Heisman frontrunner right now. I realize Florida is undefeated but so is Alabama, Iowa, Texas, Boise State, Cincinnati, etc...what has Tebow done THIS SEASON to set himself apart from the rest as the best player in college football.

He got a concussion, got talked about a lot, came back 2 weeks later, and led Florida to 13 points against LSU.

Tebow is the Heisman frontrunner because he was tabbed as such by the mass media before the season started.

I agree with that...but we're halfway through the year now...it's time for the national media to stop bowing down to this guy who really hasn't done much to stand out THIS SEASON and take notice to some other players around the country.

Right, but there really hasn't been anyone else to come forward and take the spotlight. Jahvid Best got some pub, but disappeared against Oregon and USC. Claussen will get some sympathy hype for almost leading the Irish to overtime against USC yesterday.

I think the RB (Ingram I think) from Alabama could win it as long as Bama keeps winning. He's looked the best so far.

And I wouldn't rule out a defensive player yet either. As long as Tebow keeps putting up less than stellar numbers, it's probably McCoy's heisman to lose.

I think he was more tabbed by the SEC-ESPN deal. There looked like something shady was going on the way the SEC officials called that defensive pass interference and then the personal foul call that lead to Floridas last TD to tie the game in the 4th.
