    Ben Bruns on ISU staff

On the post-game radio commentary, Big Ben gave an analysis of the way the staff operates, game plans, late game adjustments, relating to the players. It's a powerful statement, one that many, many here would love to read.

If someone knows of a way to get a transcript of Ben's comments, please say so. It should be shared with the CF community, IMHO.

I'm so damn proud of our Cyclones.

With all due respect, is Ben a homer?

Because we won a game we were supposed to win by more than what was predicted? I'm excited too but lets not make too much out out of beating a Baylor team without their best player.
    What did Bruns say btw?

to paraphrase, the coaches are the best he has been around, they prepare, they adjust, they tell the guys what they are going to be seeing before it happens, and Bliel is amazing with the o-line.

Aren't we all, every one of us who wears Cardinal and Gold? Still, IMO, Ben is critical when our play calls for it.

But, there's something he does better than any other Cyclone commentator I've ever heard. He gives us an illuminating inside perspective. When he talks about Coach Bleil at the end of the game, continuing to analyze the defense and make adjustments, resulting in the Clones continuing to "gash" Baylor (in Ben's words) so we can finish the game, I accept Ben's analysis.

It's up to each one of us to decide what import we place on Ben's point of view. I value it highly, and for those who feel likewise, I wanted to provide a heads up. Those those who don't care for Ben, I wasn't talking to you. (grin)

No. Because we continue to improve. The team is getting better while we're heading into the meat of the schedule.

So, you and I are excited. Great. I said I was proud of the Clones, IMO I did not make to much out of beating Baylor.

This is why I disappeared for 10 months, nothing people post here can be said without it being fileted. Because someone doesn't agree precisely with another's opinion, the better behavior is to say nothing . . . IMO.

I'm outta here. Back to my cave. My god, such an innocent statement, "I'm proud of my Cyclones," is attacked. My god. . . .

I would like to read that and agree. Good post.

Most dominate B12 game since the Blythe 4TD game against A&M (that I can remember). Just physically, mentally, and any other way you can think of beat them down. I'll take it.

Ben Bruns is as boring as it gets as an announcer. Add to that that he comes off with the Dan Dierdorf 'I know more than everyone else' attitude, and I have a hard time accepting anything he says even when it's positive. We have to get someone better. He's horrible.

Re: Ben Bruns on ISU staff

Bruns called it well back in 2002 when the locker room was not showing any leadership after the UConn loss and if somebody didn't step up, the bowlgame and the following season would be ugly. he called that one perfect, and I have taken what he says a bit more to heart than a normal sideline announcer.

As do I. As an out of stater, I don't get to listen to Bruns that often. I got to hear him do play by play for NDSU game and sideline reporting tonight. I think he is quite good, actually. Obviously an Iowa State fan, but not a complete homer. Analysis is pretty good.
