Cinncinati vs Boise State - National Championship...?

Could this happen.....? Both these teams have fairly easy schedules the rest of the way out. If both are 12-0 should they be in the game....?

I would love to see the BCS explain away this senario......

Re: Cinncinati vs Boise State - National Championship...?

What happens if Iowa only loses one game from here on out, lets say against OSU, do they still deserve a nod?

I think Boise St. and Cincy is a good possibility, even if Iowa only loses one. But a lot can happen.

Iowa is going 12-0. That's all but guaranteed.

That being said, they will need a lot of luck to make the national title game. A 1 loss Va Tech is ahead of them, the SEC champ is guaranteed a spot, a 13-0 Texas team, SEC title game loser perhaps might finish ahead of Iowa, etc.

Still going to be a great season if you're an Iowa fan.

They need some teams to lose for that to happen. Without losses, I don't see them jumping Texas, Alabama, Florida, or maybe even Va Tech and USC. If Alabama gets to the title game I can see the polls go against Va Tech because they already played. The big one is that Iowa needs Texas to lose. Iowa's problem is that with the Big10 having the perception of being down and tOSU's loss taking them out of the BCS spotlight they really don't have any marque games remaining.

That would be a nightmare for the BCS.

I wouldn't mind seeing Iowa get pounded by Alabama or Florida but I'm sure that wouldn't be a highly rated game outside of Iowa and Alabama.

Re: Cinncinati vs Boise State - National Championship...?

I guess my point is that both Cinncinati and Boise State do not have to play a conference championship game. The Big 10 does not either, but Iowa at Ohio State is not going to be easy. With the Big 12, SEC both having Championship games they are more than likely to have at least 1 loss teams in the National Title game. If Iowa remains undefeated there is no way the BCS can keep them out.....(imo)

Re: Cinncinati vs Boise State - National Championship...?

I would love it, but I don't think it will happen. Iowa is a long way from 12-0, but they have looked good and at least our loss to them doesn't look quite as bad (but it was bad looking).

Re: Cinncinati vs Boise State - National Championship...?

Id love to see Boise,Iowa and Cincy go perfect and have a Bama vs Texas national title. Then you have Cincy to Orange bowl and Iowa to the Rose and Boise most likely would go to Fiesta so none of the other unbeatens play each other

Re: Cinncinati vs Boise State - National Championship...?

There could be as many as 4 undefeated teams that get passed over for 1 loss teams. Iowa, Cincinnati, Boise, and TCU could all win out. The "experts" say it always works out, but I don't see that happening this year.

How would you like to be TCU you could go unbeaten and bot only not play for a national title but not even make the BCS because Boise St. maybe ranked higher than you and they get the auto bid
