    Your paranormal experiences?

Just curious if anyone has had any personal experiences? I'm a bit of a skeptic, as is my wife, but we also are fascinated by the possibilities and watch a lot of shows dealing with it.

Probably my only experience (real or imagined) was when I was maybe 12 or 13. The headboard of my bed was to the left of the door to my bedroom, which was at the end of the hall. Late at night, I was laying awake, and as always, a faint light from the yard light out in the driveway cast a shadow on the far wall toward the end of my bed. As I lay there, it got very slowly brighter. I looked out the window to see if cars were going by, and went out into the living room to see if someone was parked in the road or something. Nope.

I returned to bed, and the light slowly got brighter again, but as it did, the shadow it cast started advancing very slowly across the wall, as if a very dim flashlight was making it's way down the hall towards my room. Eventually, I mustered up the courage to jump out of bed and shut the door, and never slept with the door open again until I moved out of my parent's house.

Anyway, as tame as it is, I remember it well to this day.

I've never had any paranormal experiences that I can think of. I don't really believe in that sort of stuff. However, I do like watching those ghost hunting shows. Whether or not that stuff is fake, is beyond me.

    Re: Your paranormal experiences?

My wife has had some ghost hunting experience. There is a haunted cemetary near Palo that she and some friends visited. It's one of the most haunted places in Iowa. She has pics of orbs (sp) above grave stones and a pic of a face that appeared by one. I cant see it, but she can plain as day. I'm fine with not having any experiences.

how do i attach the pic from my desktop?

    I have been there too.

Some friends of mine have some wild stories from there. Unfortunately, I didn't notice anything paranormal when I went

    Re: Your paranormal experiences?

I recall things like the light on the wall-ish thing you described when I was a kid...and I chalk it up to letting my mind go there.

There have been times, older, where I feel like I cannot move, or I feel some sort of depression into my bed...but there are explanations for that, too. I don't buy that sort of thing...though I know good friends who swear they had stuff happen in their house, and they are not kooksville. If that stuff exists, I am glad it happens elsewhere :)

I will say this though...the photos at this link below, they have been analyzed by German Scientists...and there is one aspect of it that they can't explain.

I will let you try to find the area...there are three very, very interesting discrepancies, and I was only able to find two. The third one, well, someone had to explain it to me. I won't spoil it for you...sort of a paranormal 'Where's Waldo' experience.

I had to really concentrate, but I found them all.

If you look really closely at the boat, you can figure it out.

(I hope that's not giving too much away.)

Yeah, please folks, don't give this one away. It's more rewarding when you find out on your own, without outside assitance

I found all 3 of them, fairly easily. You just need to concentrate and focus on the smaller parts of the picture.

I must say I've never been a believer in werewolves until this Fall, right before the UNI game. Now, ever full-moon cycle, I make sure to lock every thing up, and let the dog in xtra early.

    Re: Your paranormal experiences?

I used to play a computer game where I had a page of paper to keep track of things each time I played, which was usually daily. I kept this paper in my top desk drawer, on top of everything else in the drawer. One day, I opened up the drawer to get it, but it wasn't there. During the next few minutes I had the drawer completely empty and hadn't found the paper. Sitting in my chair with the drawer still wide open and empty in front of me, I had sorted through the items previously in the drawer and had a few things to throw away. I picked them up and turned to the side where the wastebasket was at, dropped the trash in the basket, turned back in my seat...and the paper was now laying in the center of the empty desk drawer. I just sat there stunned for awhile. I was by myself, sitting inches away from that empty drawer at all times and only took my eyes off of it for about 2 seconds. It might have been a message from God to clean out my desk drawer.

    Re: Your paranormal experiences?

I dated this girl in high school who's family actually moved out of their house because it was haunted. Some pretty crazy stuff went down there.

I've never really had anything too nutty go down in my life but I must say I am a believer. I look at it this way. With all of these tales/stories that are out there, something has to be somewhat real doesn't it?

    Re: Your paranormal experiences?

Aight...this one might take a while but every word is true I swear.

2005 my mother passed away after a pretty nasty battle with cancer. In the following days we were cleaning out the house and we found a dresser in the basement. We didnt know if it was a family heirloom or what so we opened up one of the drawers. Now keep in mind that no one in my family was really aware of this dresser, so it had most definitely not been used in quite some time. We opened up one of the drawers which we found was empty except for a lot of dust. However, upon closer inspection, we found something written on the inside panel of the drawer. NO LIE, in ink that looked as if it could have been written yesterday, with zero dust build up on it, was written, "Hey there everybody!" Gave me the shivers so bad I had to sit down. My mother was bed ridden for months so there was absolutely no way she could have gotten up, walked downstairs and written this in her state. Unreal.

    Another story:

At her funeral we released nearly 50 yellow balloons (as it was her favorite color). The very next day, my great aunt who lived on the complete opposite side of Cedar Rapids woke up to a yellow balloon stuck in her tree in the front lawn. Her husband died a few months before.

A lot of stuff like that has happend since her passing. Many times I will be sitting alone in my room at my desk and feel as if someones hand sets on my shoulder.
