    Football Friday night...

    Dowling over Indianola 45-21

Indianola's coach was ejected in the 1st qtr after 2 "unsportsmanlike" penalties called against him. (...just wow)
which means... he can't coach in their season finaly next week.

Just wow? Get over yourself. Eric is a solid coach and a better human being. I look forward to the day when he is offered the Ankeny job. Eric has done more than a tremendous job w/ a serious hand-cuff. That's not to say the kids in I-town are bad. There just are not enough of them.

I'd like to know the circumstances of the penalties. In any event, I am a fan of any team coached by Eric Kluver. That said, Michael Chia is a fun athlete to watch. I'd guess given his size that he will not get any D1 offers, but I think he'd make a hell of a safety.

Get over myself??? Eric's a solid coach??? Yeah he sure proved it tonight i guess, not to mention the wonderful homosapien you claim him to be. ...Those were unsportsmanlike penalty calls directly against him. Whatever he did to get himself ejected from a highschool football game certainly didn't impress the officials or his team (I can't imagine). However, I was somewhat impressed, I've never seen a coach get tossed before. Perhaps you're just a little bit mad because your belov-ed Indians lost tonight. Go ahead... double the output, you still lose. Not sure where you were going with that "not enough of them" comment. Dowling only suited up 48 players. ...just wow!

They're 7-1 and ranked 10th according to the register. It was a nice game to watch tonight.

Holy cow! I just read the rules for playoff eligibility. 16 teams from each side of the state in 4-A, which means 32 of the 48 4-A teams get in???

I don't think this was how it was when I was in high school back in 2000-2004. I think 8 teams from each side of the state got in. It never mattered for me, because we weren't good enough to get in.

Yep, they expanded all the levels formats to 32 teams despite the fact it makes little sense for 4A to do so(you have 3 win teams in a "playoff", I could be wrong but I think if things fall right you can get a 2 win team in as well).
